We hired Randy to re-finish our wood floors in the Summer of 2007.  We were going to be gone on vacation, so this was the perfect time for him to complete the work since we would be out of our house for 1 week.  Our whole house except the kitchen has wood floors. 

We met with Randy on several occassions.  He appeared to be a very nice, professional man.  The day before we were leaving on vacation he came to our house and asked if we could pay him some money so he could pay his crew.  This was a MAJOR mistake on our part, but we really trusted him.  We learned our lesson! 

We left on vacaton and, apparently, Randy left on vacation too which we did not know.  We were told by our neighbors that a van with another company name was at our house during the project.  So, Randy subcontracted with another company to do our floors and did not tell us.  The crew got behind because the power to our house went out.  When they figured out where our breaker box was located they then rushed to finish before we returned.  When we got home, the floors were very grainy to the touch and did not even look like there was a coat of poly on them.  Randy was supposed to put a minimum of 3 coats of poly. 

We called, but Randy was on vacation.  We finally got through to the Foreman who was overlooking the job.  We could not move all of our stuff back in our house like we planned to.  They said they would fix our floors.  Still, Randy would not speak to us.  After the floors were finished (several days later) we moved back in. 

The floors still did not look like they had any poly on them.  I would guess there was one light coat.  We continued to call Randy.  He finally answered.  We set-up a time for him to meet us at the house to look at the floors.  He never showed.  We set-up a 2nd meeting and he never showed.  We called many, many times.  He became very rude and aggressive with us on the phone, so we had to get aggressive back.  We threatened to sue, but this didn't even help. 

We had another company look at our floors.  They said there was a very light coat of poly and that was all.  They also said it was the worst job they have seen.  After about a month, the stain began to wear off and it would scratch very easily.  Randy would not come and see the finished work.  He refused.  My husband even confronted him in a parking lot. 

He is by far the worst business man I've ever encountered.  I've never seen such poor work.  We should have not paid him.  We did learn our lesson; however, please DO NOT use him if you are getting your wood floors re-finished.
