Ray Catena Motor Car Corporation Unauthorized deduction from Security Deposit Edison New Jersey

Returned E-350 car lease one month before end of lease. Dealersip did walk around of the car and certified everything outside was OK. The dealership was to refund the Step lease deposit in full. When the check came a month later dealership deducted $1876 charge claiming damage to car exterior.

When questioned why additional charge, the response was talk to Mercedes Benz Financial Services (MBFS), because the charge is from them.

When I asked - The car was returned to your dealership, you had done the walk around and certified everything was good and if there was any exterior defect why was it not shown to me and also not given the opportunity to getit fixed...they have stopped responding to emails. At no point did the dealership ever mention that MBFS will inspect the car.

Have challenged the dealer on the pictures that MBFS has claimed as damage. If it was true was very visible to naked eye and does not need a trained technician. These damages were not present at the time of the return. The dealer did not specify about any damage in oral or in writing upon return of lease to dealership.

The dealership has scruplously charged from the security deposit an amount of $1,876.
