I took the car in for a warranty repair in the ABS system. While "up on the rack with the front end already apart" the service person felt that the brake pads and rotors were worn and the calipers were frozen. I agreed to the repair. The repair was "replace the front brake pads and rotors and freed up the caliper slides" for nearly $400. They then quoted me nearly $1000 for other "needed repairs" that I opted out of. I took the vehicle to my regular mechanic who stated that there is NO WAY that the front rotors could have needed replacement already, period. He also stated that the other repairs were not necessary.
