RCA personal small business phones Beware if buying RCA RCA Visys 2.4 ghz cordless phone Beaverton, Oregon

I have trouble finding a battery for the headset portion of  the RCA Visys 2.4 ghz cordless phone.  I called RCA personal/small business phones and they claimed the battery was NOT a part made by RCA and they couldn't help me.

I told them I had spent two weeks going to a variety of electronics stores in Phoenix looking for the needed battery AND countless hours on the internet.  Batteries Plus even ordered in a battery that their charts said would work--and it did not.

I asked RCA if they could sell me a battery.  They said NO.  I asked if they could tell me WHERE I could get a battery and they said they could not.  I explained to agent 'Kim' that the phone was worthless without a battery and she said she couldn't help me.

I asked Kim for a supervisor.  I was transferred to Heather who repeated everything Kim said and told me she couldn't help me.  I then asked to speak to someone higher and was transferred to a man whose name I didn't get.  He told me that the batteries were made by 'thompson' and to contact them.  I told him I had tried to find a phone or email address for thompson but couldn't find one.  He said he didn't have one either but then gave me a battery number that he thought would be the right number for the battery and suggested I use that in a 'search'.  It ended up NOT being the right battery number. 

I then did more research on Thompson and came up with a company www.biaf.com that did have what appears to be the correct Thompson battery for the RCA phone.

RCA SHOULD have had the information I needed.  Their help was ZERO.  They basically said it wasn't their problem since they didn't make the battery.  RCA has to be one of the worst companies as far as customer service I have ever worked with.  In this day of the computer this is EXCUSABLE. 

Beware--if you decide to purchase ANY RCA phone product realize if you need something as simple as a battery or part RCA will NOT sell direct to you and even WORSE, they will provide you with NO help in finding out who to go to to get the necessary parts.
