RCA ripoff no Reply to our Registered letter asking what happen to our wireless keyboard returne for rpair .....
We purchased an RCA Infrared Wireless keyboard, (WKB10WB1) the only keyboard that interfaces with our WebTV System. After one month's usage the h's and n's needed double hits to print on our tv monitor. After 2 months the keyboard konked out entirely. Per Circuit City's return policy, 30 days after purchase all merchandise must be returned to the manufacturer Thomson Consumer Electronics Inc. Product Exchange Center, Socorro TX. We mailed the keyboard using the US mail system to the manufacturer with a covering letter describing the problem.
After six weeks we called to find out why we had not received our repaired keyboard. We were informed that without a tracking number (which we should have obtained BEFORE returning the keyboard) there was no possible way they could tell us where in their system our keyboard may be located.
Our keyboard booklet that icluded the warranty did not mention the need for obtaining a tracking number. Circuit City did not mention it to us when they instructed us to return the keyboard to the manufacturer. In fact, when we talked with them again recently, Circuit City didn't know what I meant by a "tracking number".
After three months we sent a registered letter to Thomson with "return receipt requested". This past week we received the signed receipt that they had received our letter of complaint. It mentioned that they had had our keyboard since December 23 and to date nothing had been returned to us. We also mentioned that their warranty information had not instructed us to obtain a tracking number before returing our faulty keyboard to them. We told them we were notifying The Better Business Bureau and Circuit City of Panama City, FL.

I called the phone number listed above and got a recording stating the number has changed to 800-336-1900. When I called this number to check on the status of MY returned product, the rep. I talked to told me they would have to investigate the claim and get back to me within 5 days. Here's to Hoping...

I had a similar situation with Thomson on an answer machine. I sent in according to info in owners manual. I waited 2 months and then called their customer service number which is 580-634-0151.The first personI spoke to told me I had to have a tracking number to locate my answer machine because they had no record of me.
After writing many letters and getting know where and no responses. I decide to call back. The person I spoke with at that same number told me that they might be able to find account without tracking info. she tried no luck.
I then insisted on a supervisor because I was not going to let them get away with stealing my property that I paid them for once already. she told me three times she did not have a supervisor available. I told her I would hold until one was avaiable. She then sent me to an ERA which is the same thing as supervisor. She found my account in a matter of minutes and then sent me a replacement two days later.
My advise would be to call at the number I listed and demand a supervisor or ERA. that will be your best action to take. I think it was probably just a lack of training of the customer service reps. The supervisor however was more than friendly and very efficiant. not only did she ship a replacement to me she also sent an upgrade from the answer machine I had. Do no get off the line until you get a supervisor or ERA they are the only people who know what they are doing at Thomson.good luck and I hope you get the same gal I did.They also have a different address for complaints. It is thomson inc po box 1490 Durant, O.K. 74701. I learned this when supervisor advised that my letters were not rsponded to because I sent them to the warehouse which is in socorro, tx and the cust serv in ok handles all correspondence. so if you want to write to get issue resolved then write to Oklahoma address.
