I purchased a "Fan/Collector's" DVD set of the entire Bonanza seriesfor my husband through a link atAmazon.com. The discsarrived from China (unexpected) in broken cases with 115 DVD's. Every disk hadhand-written numbers (with some #'s duplicated and others missing),by someone with afractured knowledge of English.
The discs were copied from discs already copiedfrom shows onTV Land and the Hallmark stations (station logos wereat the bottom of eachepisode). Some discs were blank and theremainingexceptionally visually distorted.
Several e-mails to the company resulted in a promise of a refund if we complied with their instructions - which we did to the letter. We returned the discs (purchased for $135), at a cost to us of an additional $51 for postage to China. We forwarded a copy of the USPS Customs Declaration & Dispatch Note to RD Vision. We never received another e-mail or heard from them again.
Icalled the phone number onthe VISA card used to purchase the DVD's.When I asked the man who answered the phone where he was located,he said he didn't know and it was none of my business anyway!(Got Toronto from another complaint about this company.)
After he called me "a liar", I offered toforward the e-mailsfromRD Visionin substantiation of my claim. His response was a barage of insults includingcalling me"a retard", "the village idiot","obviously stupid",ad infinitum.
WE PAID$186 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Once the DVD's were returned and a copy of the USPS receipt forwarded to RD Vision (they didacknowledge receipt), we never receivedanother e-mail.The phone call (today, 2/2/11), yielded nothing more than my being insulted.
RD VISION* WHAT-A-DEAL-DVD is a blatantly scurrilousbusiness whose outrageous scamsneedto be stopped NOW. There have been far too many complaints not to take some action against this company.
