I love working from home. There are many valid companies that offer real work-at-home opportunities. However, Re-docs is not one of them. I replied to a medical abstractor position posted on Craigslist.org. The ad stated that no previous abstraction experience was needed. I was invited to attend a two-hour training session. 30 minutes of the two-hour session was wasted on  trying to solve a computer issue with one of the attendants. However, the session was just a telephone conversation. We were told that if we completed a "real case" to use as training, then we would be paid $50.00. Well I completed the case. There was constant communication between myself and a "Mr. Grossman" until I completed the corrections. Once I completed the corrections, I never heard back from Mr. Grossman. Not 1 word. Not 1 reply. Not even a thank-you. It's been over a week since I last heard form this Mr. Grossman; and I've come to the conclusion that this job offer was nothing more than a scam. This company, which obviously is a start-up, posts job offers on Craigslist, get people to work the cases and make corrections to build thier business without actually paying for help. It's an unfortunate and sad situation for this company. But what's even worse is for those actually seeking employment only to be scammed into working for free. The website looks legitimate, and even has doctor's names attached to it:

Dr. Adam Duhan, CEO

Dr. Adam Gratz

Jason Jungreis, Esq.

I initially took this job seriously because the website looked legit, and I have experience in medical records. I liked the business concept. This company is either HIGHLY unorganized, or runs the dumbest scam I've ever heard of. EITHER way, I advise my fellow work-at-homers to stay far away from this opportunity.

I saw this complaint and had to write. I felt the same way the person who wrote in felt. I saw a ad on Craigslist for medical abstractor back in July 2017 I think I applied and heard back from a Joe Grossman also saying he'd get back to me on orientation. Then heard nothing back. Emailed asking what was going on but nothing. So then saw another posting month later and I'm like is this real or not so I researched company and got a nunber and called. I talked to a great helpful lady named Faye who told me yea its a real job. That Joe Grossman was in charge of hiring but they were going through so many changes at once with company growing that they weren't prepared for all of it at once.. So she gave me an email of another lady who contacted me within a day and interviewed me within a day also. I did my trial case and then I was doing more cases.

The case manager I have was SO helpful in teaching and answering all my questions. I've worked there as a work at home abstractor since Nov of last yr. BEST contractor job ive ever had. Faye really cares about all us abstractors and try hard to help us be enjoy working for them. She was so patient when I was learning and slow to do whatever to help me get better. I barely write reviews online but I just saw this today and was blown away. Because I did feel and go through some of what the reviewer did and understand it cause there's so many scams nowadays, but I also researched and called before I made a judgmental opinion without really knowing the facts. But to put it on ripoff report and tear down a company that doesn't deserve it and is not true, no way was I going let that happen. It is a real contractor job, the people that work there are great, and the flexibility that you can work when you want, makes me love it even more.

Not Clear Why a Complaint Was Filed

AUTHOR: Joe Grossman - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 20, 2017

Complaint states that Re-Docs does not offer "real work-at-home opportunities."  On any given day, we have more than a dozen people working from home.

"30 minutes of the two-hour session was wasted on  trying to solve a computer issue with one of the attendees". Almost true. We did try to help someone who was attending who couldn't get their computer to work. We have since arranged for someone outside the conference call to handle these issues. But, I think it shows the care we take with each person.

"However, the session was just a telephone conversation." During the conference call we review our template and how to enter information. Attendees have the opportunity to login to our website and practice entering medical information.

"We were told that if we completed a "real case" to use as training, then we would be paid $50.00." Applicants are told that if they complete a practice case abstraction to acceptable standards within three days, they will be paid $50 upon acceptance of their first real case, and if the practice case is correctly completed in seven days, the applicant/trainee will be paid $30 upon acceptance of their first real case. The pay is not for completing the training case, it is a signing bonus for accepting their first case.

" Once I completed the corrections, I never heard back from Mr. Grossman. Not 1 word. Not 1 reply. Not even a thank-you." Not exactly clear what happened here. I know my records show I responded within a few minutes  to each of at least four emails from the person making this complaint. It is indeed possible that there was a period of time during which the person who filed this complaint was not contacted. I assume if they had emailed me, I would have responded, again, within a few minutes. The last email received said they were no longer interested and I did not respond. That is correct.

"This company, which obviously is a start-up, posts job offers on Craigslist, get people to work the cases and make corrections to build thier business without actually paying for help." We offer free training. No applicant or trainee  ever works on a real case until they sign a contract and are instructed about privacy rules. The training cases are not cases about a real person and in fact often contain medical information from a number of different imaginary cases. All people who work on real cases are paid for every page and paid on a regular basis.

"It's an unfortunate and sad situation for this company." This complaint certainly is "an unfortunate and sad situation for this company." This accuses me of being something I am not. I just wonder if it is slander or libel.

"But what's even worse is for those actually seeking employment only to be scammed into working for free." Not at all true. No one is working without being paid. People are being trained at no cost and given a bonus when they sign a contract and accept their first case. The bonus is in addition to pay for the work on this case.

"The website looks legitimate, and even has doctor's names attached to it." The webiste is legitimate and it is very unfortuneate that this baseless claim may have an impact on a group of professionals who are working very hard.

I would encourage the person making this complaint to remove it since almost all of it is not accurate. I do apologize for the gap in communication and wish the person make the complaint had simply sent an email asking for the status of her application.
