on oct 23 i had two kids come to my door posing as colledge students. They were trying to sell magazines to get points so they could go on a trip to spain. i told them many time that i was not intrested in buying any magazines. they just kept pressing and pressing. i should have just shut the door on them, but i'm not that type of guy. so i just kept listening to there pitch.

then they told me that i could still help them out without actually buying magazines. they told me that i could just write them two checks (one each) and cancel within 3 days and they would still get the points. i was still a little off about the whole thing but agreed.

they also told me that my neighbor did the same thing for them and showed me the checks. so i wrote them two checks. wich was for two subsciptions each person for a total of 4 magazine subscriptions. this totaled $92 for each check. a total of $182. i thought that was a crazy price for 4 magazines, but figured that i was canceling that day anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. they assured me that if i canceled my checks would never be processed and i would get them back with a reciept. and then they left.

well they did cash my checks. so i called them many times with no call back or answer. i left many messages on an answering machine. nothing. then i threatened to call the cops and the BBB and they called back within the hour. this was about two weeks later. the lady said to fax her a copy of the checks and they would refund the money in 5 to 10 buisness days. that was two months ago and i still have not recieved a refund or even a call. so i am still calling mutiple times to the same answering machine and still not getting an answer or call back.

this company is a huge scam. and they are really good at giving you the run around. watch out. hope my story helps.
