Once again, I fell victim to Readers Source. The sales rep girl from Treasure Coast Enterprises of Fort Myers, FL called me on July 6, 2008 and said that my magazines were automatically being renewed. I replied that I had already paid for these magazines like 6 or 7 years ago, and was done. On top of that, I had not even been receiving all the magazines as I had been told I would.
I told her I did not want continue any services. She replied that since it was already in the system for 'automatic renewal' that they had already subscribed to the magazines and that I had to pay for them. I couldn't believe my ears. I had not requested this, and nor was it written anywhere that this "contract" would be renewed to my knowledge. Where was this "contract"?
I am now stuck with a bill of over $1296 for magazines, that I'll not even have the time to read, that I don't even want.
When I called back, and talked to a customer service man, who didn't give me his name, and who also refused to give me the address of the Treasure Coast Enterprises, I was told that I could not cancel my contract. That the publishers were expecting that money, and they had paid them out already, and the poor story that they don't make any money from this. Does he expect me to believe that?! He apologized for the sales representative's poor behavior, but said there's nothing he could do now. That he would send a message to them letting them know what had happened. As if I believe that, too!@#!@#!@#! However, he told me that I could "reach a settlement" by paying 40 percent of the remaining original balance of $1260, an amount of $504 dollars within the next 2 weeks.
This company, Readers Source, works by preying on and lying to its customers, and I wish that someone would hold them responsible for their lies.

If you read all the way to the last page. They have to pay you back, but with so many different names it is very hard to know which is which. I've already post on BBB and have my own report on here. Everywhere I look its the same company. Same scam.. same address.. same number... and yet no one has been able to make them stop. Saying that you have a lawyer scares them and they will cancel your account. But if you've been paying as long as I have. I want more then just oh we cancel your account. So Good Luck to you. Hope this helps.

I agree with Mike and Sandra they are a ripoff. I have been trying to cancel with them and cannot get anyone on the phone. I have written 2 letters and they keep taking money out of my account even after I told the bank to put a stop payment on it. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau WHICH THAY ARE A MEMBER OF. HARD TO BELIEVE...Good luck to everyone and if they call you hang up!!!
