I contacted Real Estate Webmasters over 2 months ago to provide me with an estimate for my new real estate website design that I was about to begin. Yes, I did find them online! I am still waiting for that estimate. I have called them several times and have received no calls back! Just so you know they are located out of British Columbia and not Canada!

I am writing this letter to inform other consumers that I found this company to be rude when they did answer the phone and unhelpful in answering my questions.

Real Estate Webmasters treated me like they did not need my business. They told me that they had other customers willing to pay them 30-50K more than what I was budgeting for. Really they made me feel cheep and I was willing to pay between 15-25K for their services. Which, I found out later from a colleague was crazy. He stated you can get the same design work done for under $5K and next time to do my homework.

I contacted my friend who referred me to Real Estate Webmasters to express my concerns on how inadequate their services where. He did apologize and mention that two of his other colleagues had experienced similar incidents after their sites went live.

They explained that some components of their websites did not work correctly and that they called Real Estate Webmasters to fix the problem and they were told they needed to wait months until the could get to them. My buddy in Atlanta is just livid with them! This is even after he spent a lot of money with them. I mean a lot of money!

All of us live in the United States! We did discover that Real Estate Webmasters is out of British Columbia, Canada. Maybe this is why they are so rude! I strongly encourage you to hire a local company inside the US if you are designing a real estate website. Don't be tempted by this company! From talking to others even past customers of theirs I have discovered they are good at selling a product but not delivering one.

Just so you know the technology is actually not that difficult to figure out. All your programmer needs to know is how to set up an idx feed from you local listing services and program snippets in html so that links to different types of searches can be created which makes it more user friendly!

From The way it looks Real Estate Webmasters is not a member of their local BBB chapter nor do they have any really good press. They have a lot of press out their but most of it is due to them encouraging people to get them leads to qualify for $50,000. This seems like a lot until you see their hourly charges then it makes sense.

Very Disappointed,

Gwen

Not reality...

AUTHOR: Canadian Developer - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 29, 2014

This post cracked me up :)

Gwen: "Just so you know they are located out of British Columbia and not Canada!"

Rebuttal: Just so you know... British Columbia is in Canada.

Gwen: "I found out later from a colleague was crazy. He stated you can get the same design work done for under $5K and next time to do my homework."

Rebuttal: ... the famous "colleague" that always has the valuable opinion about everything they know nothing about. Usually, clients come to me with the "Brother" or even the "Nephew" when they want to back their claims to knowledge of the industry. The development work (not design work, as design is just a tiny portion of web development) for the most basic database driven website starts at around 3k. You want a real-estate service site, then expect to pay 10x to 50x that price... how does 250k sound? It's all relative.

Gwen: "Just so you know the technology is actually not that difficult to figure out. All your programmer needs to know is how to set up an idx feed from you local listing services..."

Rebuttal: (This is where I broke out laughing) If it's "actually not that difficult to figure out" then why don't you go "figure it out", and then come back an post about your experience? Developers would love to hear about how easily you "figured it out."

A word of advice to those seeking valuable information: Don't take everything that you read and see on the internet as gospel.

That's my two cents on it.

My Input

AUTHOR: SEO-Realty - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 07, 2013

All I can say is that we have received a quoute on some very specific programming that we wanted. And I mean a LOT of programming!! I am a website designer and SEO guy (FYI). --So when I say a lot...I really mean it!

This company and my sales person over there has been GREAT! We have not started our progect yet but will soon.

Even with my wish list of everything...And I can guarantee you that my wish list far outways this persons "wants" --It was FAR below 50K! So this person is lying. And my quote involed 9 MLS systems too!

Somtimes communication may not be great at times with any company...But my experience from this point has been fantastic! I know Real Estate/Website Design, and SEO..And this company is the best!

Just my thoughts!

I've spoken with Morgan Carey and disagree

Hello,

I came across this complaint when searching for Real Estate Webmaster's website and think the original post seems 'off

I contacted Morgan a couple years ago and his prices were not close to 50K...

Also, they IDX feeds they use are custom for specific real estate boards and require licensing... So, you can't just ask someone to program them...

Anyways... just my 2 cents...

False report - remove immediately!

AUTHOR: Real Estate Webmasters - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, March 13, 2009

You have just "published" a story regarding my company located here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/433/RipOff0433566.htm - I found out about it because someone emailed me offering to "get rid of it" for a fee - is this your gig? Defamation then extortion?

I can assure you (and guarantee) that this story is completely false - just read it! It makes ridiculous claims that can be incredibly damaging to my personal and company reputation if even 1 person reads its (Claims like I insulted the United States) I mean cmon do even have editors there or is this all just some big extortion scam?

Although I should not have to - I am willing to provide any proof you need that this is false (btw all this persons numbers are incorrect as well, we do not charge figures anywhere close to what is posted) - My gut feeling is this is either a competitor attempting to damage us OR that your service in of itself is setup to extort $ from it's victims.

I am forwarding this to my lawyer TODAY and if you do not take it down immediately until you do what is necessary to reasonably verify the story (which you will not be able to do because it's false) I will seek a legal injunction and damages for your part in the publication of this garbage.

Sternly
