Realgy, LLC contacted us out of the blue in late 2014. After a brief discussion, we told them that we were not interested in their services - that we would stay with our existing natural gas supplier (North Shore Gas). Approximately 8 months later, we noticed that our gas bills, well into the summer were unusually high. We only use natural gas in the winter months for heating the buildings. Upon investigation, we found that we were paying North Shore Gas bills all along, but that a "Supplier" charge had been added, unbeknownst to us, to the regular North Shore Gas bill.

When we called Realgy, LLC, they said they would investigate and see what happenned. They got back to us after reviewing the recorded calls and readily admitted that we declined their services. They had no explanation for how this could happen. When pressed, they offerred us a settlement of $907.03. We have tried three times to have them explain how they got to this amount. They have offerred a spreadsheet, but no where is the $907.03 to be found, and they will not tell us what this spreadsheet represents.

The "Supplier" charges total $9,131.21. We are preparing to file a complaint with the Illinois Commerce Commission.

Questions:

1. What were we really overcharged?

2. How many other people or companies were slammed?

3. How many were slammed and still don't know it?

4. What penalty should Realgy, LLC pay for slamming?

We have discussed with the situation with Realgy, LLC and come have to resolution.  We have attempted to update our original report but have been unsuccessful.  Numerous attempts to contact ripoffreport.com support for assistance have gone been unsuccessful.

Here is the update.

1.      We were improperly enrolled by a Realgy employee and provided service by Realgy.

2.      Realgy has modified its procedures related to enrollments of customers to require quality control review for all of its own employees. Further,Realgy affirms it has reviewed the third-party verification records related to the employee who performed Craftwood Lumber’s improper enrollment. The review revealed there was one other irregularity, related to a fixed price issue, which was resolved. No other irregularities were found.

3.      We will receive compensation for any difference between the Utility and Realgy’s price during the period of service.

4.      We are satisfied with the agreement with Realgy and withdraw our original Ripoff Report Complaint.
