I do not recommend anyone to send their children to Rebound Gymnastics West. They stole my seven year olds tuition money, would not refund it after ordering us to leave. They have a lot of issues besides money! Use any other gym in the valley but this one. Tiffany Van Dusen, the owner, is extremely rude and most importantly, provides a very dangerous and volatile atmosphere for children. When it comes to money, they are all over it and a very aggressive money hungry operation. I suspect due to the number of people leaving and they need cash to stay alive and extremly desperate. Eventually they will be out of business. After my 7 year old getting "Ripped Off" the gloves are off and I decided to expose this place and let others who may be considering this place to look elsewhere. Anyway, parents be aware of this gym if you really love and care about your kids!

daughter (gymnast) finding article

FYI~ I googled 'Rebound gymnastics west' and this ripoffreport blog came up, it was the third choice in my search... I do not go to the gym, my children do not go to the gym, i was simply doing some research on gymnastics gyms... It is absolutely possible that a child googling the gym would stumble upon this web-site.

Avoid Rebound Gymnastics!!!

Rebound is intense but worth it? Seriously?
Your "daughter is a team member at Rebound Gymnastics West. She is actually the one that found this article & was very upset by the negativity"....Again, Seriously? I guess I shouldn't be so hard on the (Highly Likely) in-house generated rebuttal; after all, whose daughter doesn't hang out on the internet checking out reviews within the rip-off report? Perhaps to be fair, this site might have popped up on this child's search for rebound gymnastics, but I suspect this never happened? Anyhow, as a parent, I have no problem informing any age of the truth about rebound regardless if this report (unlikely but possible) popped up from a Google search on their behalf or not?
Folks, don't get sucked into it, nearly anyone who is not delusional or medicated that you talk to about this place will tell you Tiffany needs to get her head checked. Additionally, another parent we spoke to who is in touch with the gymnastics world in a significant way claims that employees (and former employees) around her "off the record" will even tell you she's in way over her head and too extreme. We pulled our daughter out of there, too, because she was so traumatized by this environment, I placed her into swimming and dance for the past couple of years.
Just like the other rebuttal from the woman who ran track in college, I was just checking back on reviews to see if there is new ownership since we recently moved nearby (less than a mile) to their facility. There's not new ownership from what I can see.

Rebound is Intense - but Worth It!

My daughter is a team member at Rebound Gymnastics West. She is actually the one that found this article & was very upset by the negativity. Tiffany, the owner & head-coach, is definitely very tough on the girls - but she has their success always as her main reason for everything. To the parents that want their girls to have a "fun time" at gymnastics - keep your girls in a recreational program. This gym will prepare your gymnast for success by teaching hard work, dedication & discipline. Tiffany, and the other coaches, have trained my daughter & her teammates to practice & compete like elite athletes and their individual & team success says it all. Tiffany has very high expectations - she expects them to be at the top of the podium - and they are! We love Rebound Gymnastics West & would not go to any other gym in town.

We also pulled our daughter out of Rebound Gymnastics over a year ago. I was curious about moving back to Rebound, but I don't think so after doing a review search. As a collegiate athlete myself (women's track) I understand a lot about working out. I have a good idea about what's appropriate for kids in terms of duration and degree of intensity. I don't think the first review is 100% accurate, they seemed eager to collect money, but not overly eager for a business. I am a partner in a Medical practice, so I know collecting for services is something you just have to do!
Anyhow, I can assure you the second review is fabricated and possibly an in-house review. Knowing every kid is different, I am very closely involved with my daughters physical activities. Prior to enrolling my daughter in Rebound, I heard that Rebound was a bit tougher on the kids and that they also push them harder than some of the other gyms in the area. I've been told that many of the other gymnastics programs in Scottsdale offer more of a social hour (or 3 - 4 hours) for gymnastics and this is not what I was interested in paying for.
My daughter had been in a gymnastics program (not in AZ) prior to going to Rebound, she really liked gymnastics and in the beginning, (first week) she told me she liked Rebound. After about a month, however, she lost interest, started having anxiety (as similarly reported by the first review) she said the coaches were mean and that Tiffany was mean. Her words to a T. I was told and given feedback by a couple other Moms, not just my daughter, that it is a different kind of atmosphere. Parents aren't allowed to watch more than 15 minutes, no cameras, etc. I'm not the "run out and scream at the coach type" so we just called it quits fairly quickly, then enrolled in Chandler. Within 2 practices, my daughter loved gymnastics again and has ever since. I heard from other coaches that knew of Tiffany and without going into great detail, they, let's just say, didn't have anything positive to say.
My take to convey to someone considering Rebound:
I was only there a couple months, it seemed intense, but not in a way that made it both a good workout "and" fun for a child to want to stay motivated to continue. Many (Not All) of the parents I had interacted with at Rebound were nice enough, but "clearly" have no interest in working out, they live through their kids because they likely accomplished very little (athletically) in their life and it's possible they want to even the score through their children. There could be an entire multitude of reasons, this is simply the impression I gathered. These are the parents that will never pull their kid out of an environment like Rebound because they believe if it's the gym of gyms that push the kids the hardest, well then their little Suzie will make them feel good about themselves someday, they hope.
The claim by the person who saw the mother (allegedly) screaming at the coach is interesting and it's possible that any parent (including myself) would also scream at a coach who responds to revenue faster than concerns of my child's well being, but again, from my experience, they didn't seem overly eager to take my money and I don't know the whole story in this scenario. I didn't stick around long enough to get this far with Rebound and I pulled my daughter out of there; we drive to Chandler for gymnastics.
Anyhow, I don't think it's right for the first person to lash out and say, "it's a dangerous environment" because the parent, provided they interact with their child, would know this to be true or not quickly enough. Also, with regards to the "danger claim" driving your kid to gymnastics is likely more dangerous, so I don't recommend buying too much stock in her claim, I think she was just upset and obviously didn't believe it was the right place for her daughter, it appears? I would not recommend this place based on my experience and after reading these two reviews.
I do find it interesting that the second review claims, "I think this place and the coaches are great and I just couldn't stand it to see this bad review." Really? Well, first of all, if it was so great, I seriously doubt this person would be spending their spare time looking for negative reviews regarding Rebound Gymnastics??!! Additionally, if you do a search for "Rebound Gymnastics Scottsdale" you'll find she is the ONLY positive review. Well, actually there is one other review that is positive, but the funny thing about this is that it's written by the lady who manages the front desk and money for Rebound! Marci.
We live in Central Scottsdale, the drive to Chandler is taking its toll on my husband and I so I decided to see if there were any other reviews, perhaps hoping Rebound had gotten new ownership / management. No such luck.

Rebound gymnastics west is a great gym!

As a parent of a Gymnast at this gym and reading the name attached to this report I must say the accusations are completely false! This is a parent who stormed out onto the floor where multiple 7 year old gymnasts were practicing and began screaming and waving her arms around at the coach/ owner scaring the girls that were there. My child being one of them. I have had a child at this gym for 4 years and it has always been a positive experience. Couldn't sit by and let a person write such an awful report about a great place and coach!
