AFTER SHELLING OUT $150 OF MY HARD EARNED CASH, I TOOK A LAME TEST TO BECOME A CERTIFIED RECOVERY COACH. OF COURSE AFTER PASSING THE TEST, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM SAYING CONGRATS AND THEY ALSO SENT ME AN EMAIL WITH A GENERIC VERSION OF A CERTIFICATE THAT ANYONE CAN MAKE. THEY PROMISED ONE ON ONE COACHING SO THAT I CAN BECOME A RECOVERY COACH AND MAKE $75/HOUR.
AFTER SEVERAL EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS TO THE WORTHLESS BRIAN BRADSHAW, STILL NO RESPONSE. THEY BASICALLY TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN. I'VE LEFT VOICEMAILS TO A PETER DIMAIRA GUY WHOSE LISTED ON THE WHOIS DATABASE. I'VE EMAILED HIM TOO BUT STILL NO RESPONSE.
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM!!! I'VE HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM WITH PAYPAL TO GET MY MONEY BACK. THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS! YOU GUYS ARE A BUNCH OF SCUMBAGS!

The Terms of the Service You Sold Me Was Not COMPLETE
AUTHOR: Got Scammed - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, January 25, 2013
First of all sorry to hear about the owner. Hope he survives. However, that is not the issue here. The main issue I've been complaining about all along is your company not honoring what was SOLD to me by Brian Bradshaw. He told me this $150 is 100% REFUNDABLE! I've emailed your company over a dozen times asking for a REFUND since December. Yes I received the certificate but no one ever followed up to provide the proper training to become a recovery coach? So therefore I am asking for my money back. Is that hard to understand or something? I just don't get it. You're an employee of the company and obviously care since you actually responded. Check your emails and you should know who I am and where to refund my $150 to via PayPal.
So until I receive my money back for not fulfilling your obligations on your end, I will continue to bash your company. Enough said.

#10 UPDATE Employee
I am an employee with the company

I now handle the Web marketing and other accounting for the company. Anyone who is reading this should know the owner of the company had a heart attack December 24th Christmas eve and he is still alive but is barely holding on. I am a personal friend of his. The person you keep mentioning above is his step son who has chosen to move on because of this very blog. To the person that is issuing these statements above you did receive what you paid for which is a certification of completion of 12 module conformed into one. If you were to be certified by the state of Florida which has the highest regulations in the country you would see the outlines of exactly what you would need and see that it is included in the free content provided by Recovery Coach Directory. I was told that you grew irritable because you tried to call Brian who was working from a satellite office and was actually moving at the time you went on here and issued a report and anyone reading this can see from the very first complaint that he did receive what he paid for, he just didn't like it. Now if I were to walk into a 7/11 and drink a gatorade and walk out saying I didn't want to pay for it because it was a crappy Gatorade. They will call the cops and say to bad you shouldn't have drank it. It's funny to me that you could believe that this profession this way of life could be misconstrued with a scam because you now can go out and help people and get paid for it. We only charge 150 dollars for testing and certification and only have a few people that work here. In the last month some lunatic that used to work here and thought that this was some kind of get rich quick scheme tried to break into the juvenile treatment center right next store. You people are crazy to think that you are getting ripped off when you are being given something free and saying you have the choice to go somewhere else to be certified and you can still receive referrals. The truth is since this blog has gone up a lot of treatment centers stopped referring in some areas and one other has pressed charges against a privately contracted coach out of Colorado because of him starting a relationship with a 17 yr old minor female. So I'm not sure if the man above is from Colorado but now you know why it took so long to get back to you. You got what you payed for now go to an alanon or narconon meeting and find someone to help. Your certificate is acceptable and would be accepted at any treatment center if you needed a job. The address at the top of the screen is not the address or number associated with Recovery coach Directory The address is 14000 Military trail Delray Beach Florida 33444 the phone number is 561-306-4195. 800-919-4546 is our midwest region number. We are a national company who has been doing this for years with offices all over the country. The reason we offer the training so cheap is because you will be on call and if we have a potential client in your area we will refer them to you, otherwise you can GO GET YOUR CERTIFICATION THROUGH ANY ONE OF THE OTHER 30 COMPANIES THAT OFFER IT FOR 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT WE CHARGE-PLEASE DO! It's all the same thing. If you are complaining about not being able to get in touch with someone it's because we are shorthanded and have 3 people here 9 others left since the owners heart attack and our main focus is to make sure the people calling us for help get it! You are not our customers and you don't even receive the certification through us its through a third party and because you are going through us only because there are so many coaches being certified through us and the outstanding relationship we have with them. The gentleman that is complaining about not finding our office is the one who came and the security in the building though he was trying to drop off drugs to someone in the treatment center here. THIS HAS BEEN TAKEN WAY TO FAR AND NEEDS TO BE SET STRAIT! Now please when you respond to this say what you have to say but include you name so we can address you properly and we will explain why you have your complaint and such. Grow up and act like a professional rather than acting like a person who isn't responsible for there own decisions since none held you at gunpoint forcing you to take a test to receive a certificate. I would also like to ask would a professional that you would find potentially working with your children write such profanity on here I don't think so.

I kept emailing Brian Bradshaw and Peter Dimaira to get my money back but no luck to this day.
However, I did get a lame email from Brian Bradshaw who originally sold me this scam:
"Brian Bradshaw <bradshawmail@gmail.com>12/31/12to me
I want you to know that I quit working for Recovery Coach because of how they treated you. I would advise you to open a dispute case with PayPal to get a refund. - Brian"
What a d*uche bag. I still have yet to hear back from the other scam artist who is listed on the domain Whois database, Peter Dimaira. He is also the contact person on the PayPal account. I cannot dispute any further with PayPal because this "service" isn't covered with PayPal's agreement or something stupid like that. So basically I'm out $150 and both of these guys are to blame.
According to Peter, he is only a contractor that does web design and online marketing, SEO, etc for this company. How am I supposed to believe this when HIS NAME is on the PayPal account that took MY MONEY?!?!?! Am I right? I'm still waiting to hear from his team of lawyers supposedly saying I'm causing defamation to his name or something like that. Btw, I also originally sent them my personal info on my "employment application" back in November when this whole thing started. I provided them with my address, drivers license, social security number, etc....So yeah, I'll know who to link back to if my credit or identity is compromised. See you crooks in court...SCUMBAGS!!!!

I read this review before i signed up to take the test with recovery coach directory. I also checked the BBB. It seemed to me that I would be OK. My comment is this...at least you got a phone call and a certificate. I didn't get anything. I even took the test again in case I hadn't passed. I couldn't get a call back at all. My money is gone and no certificate.
I figured at least if I got the cert I could use it without them if they didn't give me any clients. I feel like a fool. I have a masters degree in psychology and have working in the field since 2000, yet I ignored my instincts that told me it wasn't worth it. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what they say to slander me as they tried to do to you.

Their Offices Do Not Exist
AUTHOR: Agent55 - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 07, 2013
A colleague and myself were interested in working with this company. He as a recruiter to get coaches for them, and myself as a coach. Since we both had recently been duped by another company we worked for, we did some investigation into Recovery Coach Directory before investing any time and money.
We found that their offices do not exist (my colleague traveled to Florida while on vacation during the Christmas break) and could not find them nor anyone in the area who had ever heard of them. He did, however, speak to the therapist who actually designed the Recovery Coach training material that is being sold by Recovery Coach Directory. The therapist explained to my colleague that his material had been stolen by a former employee and that that former employee started Recovery Coach Directory and is selling this program to become certified for $150. The therapist further stated that he was originally offering it for a price of $790.
Also, my colleague requested, on numerous occasions, to speak with some certified coaches who were actually receiving clients from Recovery Coach Directory, which is what they promise when you sign on. But RCD would not give him any names of coaches to contact for verification. They then stopped answering his calls.
I wanted to become a coach, but will not do so through them because as far as I can tell, they will take your $150 and never give you any clients. They DO NOT appear to be a legitimate company.

I don't know what either of the gentlemen before were talking about but I received what I paid for and have been able to help so many people that my quality of life has increased 10 fold. I became a Certified Recovery Coach 3 years ago through what is now Recovery Coach Directory. It took me about 2 months of training at the time to feel comfortable taking care of the sick and spiritually wounded. I see someone else commented and said that they didn't hear back from anyone?? When I had seen this on google I just laughed because there are some people who just spiritually arent cut out for this type of job. It does require alot of selflessness and NOT selfishness. If you are in this for the money and just the money, Please don't do it! You will give other coaches like me a bad name. It's been awhile since I was certified but at the time it was $799.00 for the training and test. I just felt froggy and leaped and I could not be happier. There are some people who just couldn't handle this position... I'm more than happy and have made some great friends throughout the last couple of years. When I am given a client, I handle them with the utmost of care. I don't only rely on Recovery Coach Directory for clients, I have been treating this like my own company since I started. I have built a reputation in the Recovery community through alanon and narconon and open AA and NA meeting where people have found comfort in me being there shoulder to cry on and I have made quite a bit of money along the way. I have built a full time client roster where I work full time and my hourly rates vary from 75$-$300.00 for the hour or the day if I am traveling with an undisclosed band which im sure some of you are fans. I think a person that would call someone a "SCUMBAG" probably isn't fit to be a Recovery Coach. It's just childish in general... Maybe he needs a Recovery Coach. I will pray for his soul I assure you of that. They have a 1800 number right on there site. I contact them all the time and have no problem with anyone getting back to me but I do know this time of year its pretty hectic in any company.

So instead of acting like a professional and dealing with this issue on a PROFESSIONAL basis like normal companies do, they decide to try to slander my own name with this nonsense of me being some sort of child predator? Shaking my head in disgust!! I don't even live in Denver?!? They will be hearing from my team of lawyers soon!

I call Recovery Coach Directory about becoming a Recovery Coach and they told me that I would need to be Certified to be listed on there directory. I asked,"where can I become certified". Which I did some research and found out the cheapest certification is $500.00. They told me that I can take there online course and as long as I passed I would receive a certification of completion and that the certification is 150$ which wasn't a big deal for me after doing a little digging and finding out that I can get clients on my own and get payed anywhere between 100-500 an hour depending on location and also I like to help people. I paid the 150$ dollars and have received 2 clients from them already. I have been in contact with the company numerous times and the longest I had to wait was 48 hrs and that's probably because they have quite a few coaches affiliated with there organization. Anyway I want to do this on my own. I don't like working for someone so....
I researched what happened with this guy and his email got me tracked to his real name and I sit on the computer all the time and skype so after doing a little digging I realized why they didn't call this guy back. This guy has some nerve to try to become a coach to try to prey on little kids. I applaud Recovery Coach Directory for not working with that man. I wont say his name on here because it's just not right but someone can contact me via email and I send them over the news clipping and press release I found on him.....just disgusting!

Just received a call from Peter after multiple email and phone call attempts to the company. He assured me that this is not a scam and because of the holidays the process takes longer than usual. That still does not make it okay to not be notified in a TIMELY manner when I sent emails almost daily to see what the status was. Peter assured me I would get the one on one coaching soon for this. Until that happens, I will leave this posting up until they fulfill their obligations on their end!
