Was asked to skip trace and locate individuals. He failed to locate the individuals or to follow our instructions of character description. He was more than happy to explain why he took $375 for not following through with the job he was hired to do. This was only after we notified his "references" that he had taken our money and not done the job. We postponed our court case 4 times until the judge dismissed the case as a result of his failure to serve the paperwork or to find the defendants. Richard will claim he did everything he could do to locate (and make up several examples of how he tried to locate the individuals) but the truth is that he took money and refused to refund it for a job not done.

IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT: 

On June 9th, 2009 I was contacted by Alanna on behalf of Sholom Fine w/ LA Furnished Apartments. They Contacted me to "Skip Trace" an individual in order to serve them a Court Summons. I sent the following quote:

Per your request the following references are for Redline Risk Management, Inc. I have performed a wide verity of work from Skip Tracing to Litigation Support.

Our standard rate per hour for investigation work starts at 85.00 per hour, however for Skip Tracing if the client is able to provide all relevant information on the subject our rate is 65.00 per hour.(3-hour minimum) price includes all databases. If  located out of state, Travel is negotiable.



Depending on your situation I would be willing to review the matter further and quote each case on a Flat Rate basis. Skip tracing as you know can become very involved depending on each case and when billing hourly it can very easily cost more to locate the person Vs. the amount that is owed.

 Again, both options are available. Our firm has been responsible for locating and recovering information for Judgments; Liens and Surety Bonds and we maintain a 95% success rate since 2007 If you have any questions or if you would like more information on the Flat Rate pricing please contact me directly at 1-800-953-7511

Skip Tracing Defined: Skip tracing is done by collecting as much information as possible about the subject which is then analyzed, reduced, and verified. Sometimes the subject's current whereabouts are in the data, but is obfuscated by the sheer amount of information or disinformation. More often the data will be used to identify third parties that might be able to assist the process. This is where the job becomes more than mere research since one must often employ methods of social engineering to finesse information without compromising the situation.

I have reviewed your request and here is a short list of what can be completed on a flat rate basis.

 

Your request for skip tracing is to provide the following:

  • Locate current address
  • Verification of SSN
  • Locate current employer

 

Each case I receive i will process the information and prepare a case file that will put your firm into position to effectively serve the individual wherever they may be located. 

Based on the request for (4) Cases, the flat rate price per case is $375.00

 

A retainer of 1500.00 would be required to handle all cases, each case will receive a minimum of (8) hours of service. If the person(s) are located out of the state of CA your office will receive notification immediately so the decision can be made on correct course of action for Process service.

 

If the Person(s) are in the state of CA ,but outside my coverage area ( Orange County; Los Angeles;Riverside;San bernardino) then we can discuss the cost involved for travel and service. 

 

If person(s) are in my area; additional cost for service will be accrued along with .55 per mapped mile to cover fuel cost, no additional charges for travel time to serve process.

 

I hope this makes things a bit easier, it will diffidently save your firm in the long run.

Per my last conversation with alanna, this is to serve as the update on my progress. i told her that my goal was to have these documents served by Friday, August 14th.I attempted to contact you on Friday while in the field and i was unsuccessful. 

I have been attempting to locate and serve ******** *****. during my skip tracing i was able to locate (3) possible locations that differ from the last known address that you provided me. over the past (3) weeks i have made several attempts at each of the locations to serve this individual. The problem that we are faced with is not the physical description of the subject, but keeping up with his movements. From what I have seen you are probably not the only one he has skipped out on. 

I know that we are working against the clock and you hired me with confidence to complete the task prior to the court date, but as i pointed out skip tracing can become more involved then we sometimes hope.  we are going to need more time to locate this person, understand that ******** ***** is doing his part to make this a difficult locate, from using bad address to PO boxes, he knows people are looking for him and i seem to be about 4 months behind him and i am using my resources to close the gap, but as you are aware this has not been a full time priority 

I will continue to pursue the subject, but you will need to file to get an extension. I can provide the courts a declaration to show due diligence on your behalf if required.

I will prepare and email my findings in a report that shows the use of the (8) hours that was originally slated for this locate.

These are some of the examples to show that I made every attempt to satisfy the clients request, falling short when they requested to have a refund. 

When i found that my references had been contacted and i had been given a poor review, i sent another request to have a meeting so i could demonstrate due diligence and provide all information that surrounded the failed attempt. AGAIN Trying to satisfy the clients request, Unfortunately they dismissed my attempts to resolve the situation and decided to complain on this open forum. 

I stand by my work & I will not work for free.

The Customer in this case is not right.
