Regional Adjustment Bureau, Inc Violating Consumer Rights Laws!! Memphis Tennessee

7-14-08 I received a "Settlement Offer for You" from this company. They identified the debt for HSBC-North America for $1,182.03. The letter does not state they previously contacted me to advise me of this debt or the fact they have already reported this so called debt on my credit report.

I contacted the company today and spoke to a Rebecca who claims she is also the Manager of the company stated, "we have sent you a letter previously and reported this the Credit Bureau because you have refused to pay.

I asked her how she can verify I received the "first letter" as I never have and she stated, "because we sent it". I told her in 2006 I consolidated all my debts and paid through a consolidation company. I was cleared of any debt and do not know what this debt is for and why I have not been contacted previously if it is mine. She stated they received the debt in September 2007 and had no explanation as to why I was just receiving this type of letter today.

Her comment when I disbuted the debt was, " I will note you are refusing to pay". I asked to speak to her boss and she stated she was the boss and hung up on me. When I called in on the local number rather than the 800#, I was put on hold when I asked to speak to the Manager and no-one ever came back on the line.

My questions, were simple, who is the company and what is the debt for? I would also like proof of this debt. I was not able to ask the questions and therefore still am in the dark as to what this is all about.

Rebecca was very hostile and her listening skills were non existant!
