If I could give this "company" a rating of "-5 stars", I would.

This move was a nightmare from start to finish. As if a move from Florida to California, thousands of miles away from friends and family, isn't difficult enough. But I digress.

From the beginning, communication with the company was difficult and haphazard. Upon agreeing to move from Florida to California, I was assured that my things would be given some sort of priority considering the fact that I am a student and it is imperative for me to be somewhat settled in my new home before the start of school. Regions did everything in their power to make sure this didn't happen.

The dispatcher, one "Danny", was brazenly offensive to my mother when she inquired as to where our load was (this was as we were driving to Ft. Lauderdale International Airport), telling her that it was ridiculous to think that our goods would be en route when we weren't even in California yet. Now, I'm not a professional mover or a great person with calculating distances, but I am pretty sure that the 5 hour flight to LA is not as long as the 4-5 day drive it takes to get from Florida to California (accounting for other stops along the way).

Danny said that he could hold our goods off of the truck for as long as he wished. Why? Oh, that's right, because he's the dispatcher and "the boss". How ignorant of me. Needless to say, the flight to LA was immediately dimmed knowing that my things were not even close to my destination. Promise number one: definitely NOT kept.

But, I figured why get upset and stress over something that can't really be changed? So I did what I could without my things to get settled in my place. My mom and I were reassured by customer service that Danny would be spoken with about his actions, and that our things would be out to us as quickly as possible. WRONG.

My things were two weeks late. We were not even remotely kept within any sort of loop (i.e. we received no information about the whereabouts of our things, when they would be there, etc.). Finally, the driver of the truck with my things on it (Lior of Moving Mania out of Hollywood, FL.) calls me and gives me a delivery date of Tuesday morning. This is on Monday at noon-ish, so I cleared my plans to make myself available.

That same night I get 5 missed calls from Lior, he says he wants to drop the things off that night and head back to FL. This wouldn't work, and he was verbally aggressive about being at my place at 8 am sharp Tuesday morning.

This is where things really went downhill. Lior was on time, and his two movers showed up about thirty minutes later. Immediately Lior notices that there are four steps leading up to my apartment building.

Regions told us that anything below the third floor would not include a delivery fee of $150. Lior sees these stairs and tells me that I am actually on the third floor, not the second. Just wanting my things and no sort of argument, I just told him to charge me. He wouldn't lift a finger until that money was in his hands.

My mom was outraged, and spoke with Regions, who apparently assured her that the charges were waived. Lior promptly got on the phone with Regions (i.e. Danny the Dispatcher, and not the actual company), and told me that he was instructed to repack my things on the truck and leave if I did not pay him. He proceeded to get very aggressive, to the point of putting my girlfriend in tears. He was unreasonable and yelling, nullifying any attempt to rationally sort this thing out. He was accusing US of tricking him out of money and lying.

So as a means to end this accosting, my girlfriend ran to the bank to get the money. Lior was smoking cigarettes and complaining about not having his money. Meanwhile Regions is telling my mom (who is in Florida) that we don't have to pay the fee.

Upon her return Lior immediately demanded the money, which was given to him. He then proceeded to point out that my mother should be thanking this company instead of complaining, and that she is lucky he is not the acting dispatcher (citing the fact that he would charge her every penny he could and then some).

The rest of the move was awkward and uncomfortable, solely focused on getting Lior and his men to leave our house. Do yourself a favor and get a real moving company to haul your things for you. This business is everything that a real business is not. Don't expect any help from customer service either, although they'll coo and mollify you with promises of refunds and compensation. It's been a week since I've heard from anyone.

I am truly horrified that I was treated like this, especially by a "professional" business.
