They have now added a charge for the past 3 months to my bill. It's called "Demand charges" this charge is based on the amount of usage. So in other words if you have locked in at a rate for 24 months it is their way of charging you the difference of the savings you should have gained by the lock in rate!
When I called to ask what this charge is they called it "maintaining the equipment" they also said it was for the rapid response of power when turning on the light switch for the business in the morning. This is so there was enough electricity provided for the demand". My opinion is now they are trying to get away with "RENTING" the equipment to provide you electricity to make up for the difference in the lock in rate.
Something needs to be done with the way UTILITY PROVIDERS are "supplying" more charges to compensate for them reneging" on the 'lock in rates" that we think we can depend on so that we CAN regulate our monthly expenses.
