I am a real estate agent who provided valuations to RELS, who is a division of Wells Fargo, for their home equity lines of credit over the past 2 years. I perform over 200 valuations a month for over a dozen local and national banks.
Today I turned in an order for a HELOC and their QC department called me. They were not happy with my value and wanted me to change it. We went over comps and market conditions for over 24 minutes. Shortly after the call I received an e-mail from them stating I was fired.
I called my contact and was told it came down from "upper management" because they did not like my value. I offered to pay for an independent appraisal out of my own pocket to show my value was fair; they declined. This is the first time I've been fired or told to change my values. My name is now out there on a report that I do not stand behind.
