Me and my family were looking for a great place we thought would be to rise our child as we lived in Northern New Jersey.

We had saw an a listing on the internet for a 800.00 rental in a good community in P.A. I then contacted the realistate broker who posted the listing and told them we were interested. After going out to meet the realistate broker to go view the listing we were intersted in. We then gave all our Financial information along with employment, criminal and background 

 We then signed the lease to rent a One bedroom Home built above a 2 car garage in a small Community out in Greely P.A.

Used every last dime we had to move me, my wife and 1 yr old child along with all our things there. A few months later we had found out through the Township that a Building inspector told us it was an Illegal dwelling and was not certified for residentual living means and was supposed to be a rec room with pool table, wet bar and office.

After bringing this to the attention of the landlords who lived right next to us, they swore up and down it was legal and lied.

We moved there in May of 2013 and by Oct.2013 me, my wife and child ended up being forced to move out with nowhere to go and were homeless for over two and half weeks.

We also almost lost our child to the Children and Youth Services because of being homeless beyond our control with having a child and nowhere to go.

Me and my wife were frieghtened, worried scared and displaced not knowing what to do. I had contacted the Atourney Generals Office and filed a formal complaint with documentation proving that the dwelling we rented was in fact Illegal but the did Nothing at all in our defense! We had contacted the realestate agent who we got the rental from and informed both agent and owner of the seriousness of what was happening to us and the did nothing. Stopped returning phone calls. And shortly thereafter they changed the name of the realestate company as well!

I am going to contact the Realestate Commision Board and will in fact file a complaint on Broker who knowingly posted this illegal dwelling up for rent.

The Laandlords who rented the place were very friendly with the President of the community of which we lived in and after this all came up, the presdent of the community resigned from his position for allowing this property owner illegaly turn a two car garage into a home to rent out!
