I can relate to every single one of the claims on this site about Remington College. There is so much about the college that is a joke; I don't even know where to begin. I am embarrassed to say that is where I earned my degree. Actually you cannot even call it that, mainly it is just a $30,000 piece of paper. I do acknowledge that just because you go to college does not mean you are guaranteed a job but having a college degree is supposed to be something to help get your foot in the door. I would be better off not having that college degree listed on my resume as most companies laugh at it and say it is not considered a real degree.

This experience has ruined my ambition to continue my college career at this point. I am 30K in debt with a fake associate's degree and make only 20K a year. The truth is that even if I wanted to continue my degree, I would have to start from the beginning again because none of the credits from this school are transferable simply because they are not a real accredited school. I would have to get a second associates degree at another school and then move onto a bachelor's degree.

All I can do is hope that other people who read this are not as easily swayed about this school as I was. I wanted to believe it was a good school and that I would be the exception which would actually make it out of there and make something of myself. I was wrong and half way through the course (after seeing so many graduates working at McDonalds) I knew that I would end up where they were and you cannot drop out because you still have to pay if you leave anyways.

When the recruiter's show you the 92% success in job placement, what they fail to show you is that those people have jobs alright, if you went to school there to become an IT Tech and you graduate and get a job at Taco Bell, You are then considered placed in a jobI know first hand that just because it says people have gone to jobs after being there, it just means they have a job, not that they actually have a job that is part of their chosen field. It could be any job at all and it will count towards the success rate of the school.

I know that there are a lot of complaints on here for this college but I can tell you that the people who have complained on this website are just a drop in the bucket compared to the people I know personally who have went there and lived to regret it. This school not only ruins you financially, but it ruins a part of your goals and desires to move ahead, ambitions, self-esteem ( just knowing that you tried so hard for nothing and when you realize that you had been scammed, it is a horrible feeling) trust, (you will have a hard time trusting companies like this in the future).

It is true that they just want your money. I know that all schools want money to an extent, I mean they certainly would not do it for free but this school is ridiculous about it. There are many people that pass and put in no effort. In fact there are many classes that I personally thought I would flunk and I passed. It truly is impossible to flunk any class at that school. I really do not think anyone has ever flunked a class at that school. Everyone passes. It is impossible to flunk; you could not flunk even if you tried. They want you to stay because they want your money and the farther YOU get in the program, the more money THEY get.

Please take my advice and do not go there. Do not let them scam any more people!!

Disapointed

I love the comment about students passing without putting any kind of effort in. In my first mod at the school the instructor handed us a boatload of workbook stuff and as long as you did them you got 100 points per chapter. The class got a new instructor during the second half of that mod-he made a point of saying that there were people in the class who shouldn't have done as well as they did but the workbook and extra credit was what gave them the better grades. I worked my butt off and studied and had a lot of snide remarks from other students in the class because they were jealous that I knew so much. Well, I'm out now and while they are tolling away studying things that won't help them on the certification exam I'm going to be studying things that are on it and getting certified several months before they will be.
