I bought a property with Renewal Investments LLC in Atlanta.  They were suppose to renovate the property with money they received at closing.  I ended up buying two properties for them to renovate.  My co worker did the exact same thing.  He bought two properties as well.

They were suppose to redo the house with new counter tops, cabinets, granite counter tops, new drywall paint etc.   Komichel Johnson the CEO says that he's going to finish the work but has been saying that for 4 months now.  They have repeated lied about the condition of the property and the status of the renovation.  They keep saying it is almost finished yet they are doing nothing to progress the work.

Duron Dimmock is responsible for sales and he will remind you of that when you ask him for help.  He's not a member of the LLC but yet he presented himself as part of the LLC.

So be aware that if you buy a property from him through Renewal Investments, he will remind you that he's in sales and has nothing to do with the contractor side of things.

I can't find Renewal Investments Contractor License so be aware of that as well.

Finally I asked for my money back and the Komichel Johnson dodged the question about giving it back.  He has stopped doing any work which tells me, my money was spent by him or someone in the company illegally.  He knows what happened to my money but won't be honest.

I did some digging and found out he has a criminal record.  It appears he ran a lottery scam and went to jail for it.  Beware of doing business with Renewal Investments LLC in Atlanta.   Komichel will not be forthcoming when you ask the tough questions.

If you feel like you have been scammed by these guys just like I do, then please contact me.  I plan on contacting the district attorney and the more people that do it the better chance we have of a lawsuit that gets our money back.

That link is for the state of California's legal system.

Take a look at that link and you decide if his first sentence in his reply is accurate or not.

That is the type of man you are dealing with.

I finally got both my houses rented through this ordeal and I had to spend over 20K to fix/pay for stuff I had already paid for once.

Also learned that his personal house went through a foreclosure....ironic.
Also learned that he was in jail last year in California....you have to ask him for what.

He signed a promissory note to repay SOME of the cost that I incurred through his fraud and defaulted on that note.

I am not an isolated incident....I know of several other victims that will tell you a story that is very similar to mine.  That man took our money and he knows where it went...

Customer Satisfaction Is Our #1 Priority

AUTHOR: Komichel Johnson - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 21, 2010

I have never been involved, charged nor convicted of a lottery scam.  I have been in the residential home building business since 1999.  Over the last 11 years, I have been involved with the development and construction of over 1,000 single and multi-family homes in the City of Atlanta.  My businesses have been honored and recognized by the Atlanta Development Authority, the Atlanta Business Chronicle's "Pace Setters" award and honored by Harvard Business School professor, Michael E. Porter's ICIC and Inc. Magazine's Inner City 100 winner (ranked 14th out of 100 nationally).  I attribute most of my success in my business ventures to understanding and satisfying my customers needs.  While I can appreciate David Mack's passion for his two projects, I have been equally passionate about providing quality affordable housing to the hundreds of satisfied customers, whom I have been able to serve. This customer's properties were outfitted with new granite counter tops, new cabinets, new drywall and the interior and exterior of the homes were painted. We use licensed contractors to renovate all of our properties, and hold them to the highest standards. David Mack and his coworker received 100% financing, below market value with 30% equity in the product, and the coworker has an income producing property in a down economy. Our team continues to relentlessly improve our processes in an ongoing effort to improve communication and customer service for all of our investors.

Meeting on July 14th in Atlanta

AUTHOR: David Mack - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 16, 2010

I met with Renewal Investments on July 14th down in Atlanta.

I am an out of town investor and it was the first face to face meeting with them.
Initially I didn't think the meeting was going to go well because Duron and I had a heated discussion about my comments online.  I respect him for speaking his mind and feeling strongly about things and hopefully he understands that I feel just as strongly about my position.  I will give him credit for putting that discussion aside and he spent the rest of the day helping get things done.  He didn't have to do that but he did.

They took us around to the houses we had invested in and we got to see the workmanship first hand.  When we arrived crews were working on our houses and things were progressing.  Overall the work was good.  There were a bunch of little things that needed to get taken care of but nothing too major.  I liked what I saw.

I think things will go better from here out....at least that's my hope.  Renewal Investments seemed like they were serious about taking care of things in a timely fashion.

Renewal Investment Update and Corrections

AUTHOR: David Mack - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, July 11, 2010

I spoke with Renewal Investments and it looks like they are trying to work somethings out.  It appears as though they are trying to work through some issues they hadn't communicated effectively in earlier conversations.  Those issues are affecting when and how work is getting done but it appears as though they want to resolve things to my satisfaction.

I don't want to make it appear as though they took my money and just left.  That is not the case so I am updating this posting.

I need to mention that my friend who bought two properties is making positive cash flow on one of his properties.  He has a tenant who might buy his property at the end of the lease.

They arranged financing as they said they would that was 100% financing.  As a real estate investor I understand how hard that is to get.

After the discussion with them some things were cleared up.  My comments about his past were inaccurate based on the conversation we had.  I had read somethings online and that is what I based my comments on.
