We (Brian Carlson and Jewels Carlson) paid Renske C Vandenbosch  $1,950 for a Poodle Puppy (Gracie). The Puppy became violent and bit our groomer, our trainer and myself.  The puppy also attacked and bit one of our older dogs unprovoked. The puppy became a danger to our 2 older dogs and ourselves. Renske Re-homed our puppy to another family.

  • We received our puppy (Gracie) on October 4, 2015.
  • We received a refund of $500.00.
  • There was no stipulation real or implied that we could not demand the full amount of our payments to Renske.
  •  We believe we should be refunded another $1,450.
  • Renske informed us that (Gracie) our puppy was not able to nurse off her mother. [continued below]....
  • Renske moved Gracie to another mother with a litter that was born a week later.
  • Renske was often 1 to 2 weeks off from Gracie’s correct birthday when she spoke about Gracie’s age.
  • The first 7 weeks are when a puppy learns what bites are acceptable and what bites are not acceptable.
  • Most Veterinarian colleges and Veterinarians agree that the first 7 weeks for a puppy are crucial for the puppy’s development.
  • Renske blamed the “environment” (our home) for Gracie’s problems.
  • Renske offered us another puppy (putting the new puppy into the same environment that she blamed for Gracie’s problems).
  • Even now our oldest Poodle will not come out of the bedroom because the trauma Gracie put her through
  • We took this to the BBB and Renske refused our request for payment refund.

    • We took our puppy (Gracie) to our Groomer the day after we received her because her bad odors.
    • Our Puppy (Gracie) had  bad odor coming from her ears
    • She also had body odor like perfume sprayed on a dirty dog to cover up the odor.
    • We took Gracie to our Groomer (Cynthia) who can support this.
    • Our Groomer also noticed that Gracie’s ears were full of hair/fur.
    • She could not get all the hair/fur out of her ears because there was so much and it was impacted into the ear canals.
    • Our groomer could not groom Gracie because she would not sit still.
    • On a second trip to the groomer, Gracie was even worse, nipping and biting our groomer.
    • The Breeder (Renske Vandenbosch) told us that vets no longer recommend taking the hair/fur out of dog’s ears.
    • We have a hard time believing that this could be true.

    • When Gracie became overly aggressive, we had a trainer (Nadia Cailloa) come to our home to access Gracie.
    • Gracie bit Nadia several times.
    • This was NOT a puppy teething sort of bite.
    • Gracie would go into a rage and drew blood on more than one occasion.
    • Nadia recommended that Gracie be rehomed.
    • At this time, after Gracie bit our Groomer, our Trainer, ourselves and one of our older dogs, my wife called the breeder (Renske Vandenbosch) and told her that we needed to re-home the dog because we feared for the safety of our older dogs and ourselves.
    •  Without getting too emotional, I must say that re-homing Gracie devastated us both.

    • We took Gracie to our Vet (Dr. Jeannine Kinney DVM).
    • Dr. Kinney found both of Gracie’s ears infected and full of pus.
    • Dr. Kinney found hair/fur all the way into the ear cannel.
    • Dr. Kinney had to flush both ears and apply antibiotics to both ears.
    • We are enclosing the paperwork for Dr. Kinney DVM.

     I personally know the Carlsons and their two year journey to Gracie. They have been called lazy and unknowledgeable in dog care. They have been called liars. I could say some of those things about several of my acquaintances, but not Jewels and Brian. They carried their dogs down the stairs EVERY TIME they had to go potty, as the steps in the backyard were steep. They ended up selling their home to find a better one for their furry family members. They cut their puppies' fresh organic food to offer the healthiest choices. Obviously, they are not lazy and do their homework on dog care. One time, when they needed car repair and one of their fur babies wasn't feeling well, they made sure they had a trusted sitter who could be there for as long as the garage would need to complete the job, as we live in a small town and the dealership is an hour away. And liars? When I sent a friend request to Brian on Facebook he told me to make sure, as not everyone liked his directness. I told him it's what I admire in a world full of backstabbing so.-called friends. I want someone who tells me I have something between my teeth and laugh with me afterwards. The reason Jewels was saying great things on Facebook about Gracie while there was turmoil behind the scenes is because she is a "look on the bright side" person. She is not going to burden others with her sorrow, though she had shared with me their heartbreak that her other dogs had to be kept away from Gracie, due to her aggressive nature. This for a family that has birthday parties for their pups! Keeping the dogs on opposite sides of the house was inconceivable. Brian's whit, which you see in the text exchange, comes out harsh only if you don't know him and have pushed him over the edge by lying. He/they aren't violent. I would trust my only child and all of my fur babies to their care. I'm writing this for anyone who stumbles on these posts and wonders who to believe.

    Apologies. I did state in an earlier post that I purchased my dog from Renske. Renske represented that I was purchasing "her" puppy. I later learned that Renske was not the owner or breeder of the dog. I did not speak with, know the name of, or meet the breeder of my dog. Renske never gave me the breeder's name or contact information.  

    The puppy did not come from one of the litters in Renske's home. I purchased the puppy from a different breeder, but Renske was the only person I spoke with related to the transaction. Sorry for the confusion.

    I understand what you're saying & if I were you or the Carlsons I would certainly join in. However, my circumstances are different. My experience involved untruthful statements & evasive answers from Renske when she was backed into a corner for an answer. In retrospect, I feel like I was talking to a desperate used-car salesman (NO OFFENSE to the car guys!).

    In addition to that, Renske gave my contact information to the now-famous Judy. SHE cold-called me to pitch her goods, then called me again to rip into me because I was "so rude and inconsiderate" that I didn't call her back to tell her I wasn't interested. Judy was beyond rude in that conversation!

    Finally, I did not ultimately purchase my dog from Renske so I don't feel qualified to comment on her dogs, how she socializes them or her refund policies.  Obviously, I have no financial damages, either.  I can only address her verbal claims, which I confirmed were not true. I only spoke with - no, listened to - her. Several times. I will say I think she has a "BS" degree - lol! All assurances, promises, claims and guarantees were verbal. Nothing was in writing, so I have no emails or other evidence to back my experience.

    She & her two BFF's are vicious when they're called out.  If I had concrete evidence to contribute, I would be on it. But I don't & I've seen how agressive and nasty they get.  I posted here to warn prospective buyers. I hope they search, find this thread and proceed with caution. Or better yet, find a more reputable breeder if they buy a puppy. As in one who is honest about barking & gives full refunds when a very young pup is returned & can be sold again at full price.

    I am so sorry about your experience. I know how hard it is after you've bonded with a pet. It's like your unruly child & I would never be able to "re-home" it!  The fact that it's impacting your livelihood makes it even more disturbing. I find both your issues & the Carlons issues with Renske just disgraceful. 

    I'm also sorry I can't be of any help with the petition, but since Renske was careful enough not to commit anything to writing, I'm afraid my comments would be dismissed.

    Best of luck to you - I sincerely hope you're able to find all the others who were harmed here.

    Yes these 3 are dangerous. I do not even know Judy and Gail and they have been attacking me. My complaint did not even envolve them. They have accused me of slander, but I can back up everything I post. They said they are contacting thier lawyers, but I have not heard anything from any of their lawyers. They just use what ever threats they can come up with.

    Judy is also a breeder and she & Renske are best of friends, but I'm sure you already knew this. Mr. Carlson, I hope you can avoid Judy. Renske gave Judy my contact information to help Judy make some $$ off me, too. Judy called me to pressure me into buying her wares. When I wasn't interested, Judy called me again and tore into me about not getting back to her. I was the bad guy!

    I empathize with you, sir. I'm sick about your financial loss & I hope you are reimbursed. But you are dealing with some aggressive people here (like Gracie?). I hope you can distance yourself from them. They are relentless & go into attack mode when criticized.  

    Best we can do is caution others: let the buyer beware. Not of the dogs, but of the verbal claims of these people. Dishonest statements come easily to these folks.

    I purchased a puppy through Renske as well. I agree with the Carlsons. Renske is evasive when questioned. She hems & haws and after figuring out what she thinks you want to hear, that's what she tells you. And it isn't always true.

    It's a shame because our puppy is beautiful. I hate to say this but after listening to Renske's statements and later reading the truth on the dog's AKC forms, I would not recommend prospective customers take her answers at face value. She told us what she thought we wanted to hear. Important information (i.e. genetic testing of parents) she gave us was false. 

    Do your research before buying, and NOT from her BFF's. Mr. & Mrs. Carlson, I'm sorry you got burned. I hope our dog is healthy. We do adore the pup. But she has had a few incidents of serious aggression. We're trying to calm her quickly and it does seem to be diminishing as the dog is getting a little older.

    To the new Owner congratlations and I can speak for The Carlson's  andmyself we are happy Zoe is in your care. The Carlson family attached letters from capable witnesses it was not a match and instead of Rennie participating in this transaction she ripped off The Carlson's for $ 1900 and change minus $ 500 that she returned did you also pay for this puppy or did The Carlson's pay for you to own a puppy because Rennie did not stand up for her puppy placement. Why should The Carlson's pay for your puppy when they have witnesses of then Gracie biting the Groomers and their own dogs. Rennie ripped them off and that is why we are on this site called rip off report. You were not ripped off so why are you on this site ? You got a free puppy or Rennie made out like a bandit.I walked in their shoes so I am able to contribute because I was ripped off too hence coming on Rip Off Riport. Rennie offered to re home my dog at my expense I would not let her touch my dog for all the tea in China she already tortured him leaving him crying in a play pen with the radio on constantly saying shut up boys !

Mind your own business and one day you will have enough business to mind. Yoou are NOT going to upset us. They say when you see a demon to tell them to go away and to say we will pray for you. Stay away and we will pray for you. You tried to touture both Brian and myself for commenting on our experience.     I met Mr. Carlson via Rennie's Rose Red Poodles on Facebook. I felt people should know MY EXPERIENCE with this Breeder. I wrote a comment stating what occured during my experience with Rennie Owner of this establishment. I saw Rennie's website online and her poodles were gorgeous. I called Rennie I live in Florida My poodle passed I had him for 18 years  , I was looking for a similiar poodle to help me heal through my grief and a special needs companion. during our numerous conversations, I requested of Rennie to please, understand I need a dog that goes with me all the time, to my office, traveling, everywhere. Rennie mentioned she had a red male poodle for sale, she sent me my dog's photo and he was/is gorgeous. I was smitten...I said great I would like to purchase him. I put money as Rennie requested in her bank account and I needed to wait until my dog was able to be weened from his Mom.

    During the process, Rennie sent me a video ofmy puppy , my puppy was kept in an infant's play pen with a radio playing in the background on the video a puppy was howling . I called Rennie and asked Rennie I hope that is not my puppy and she said  No it was not. EVERYTIME I called Rennie I heard  howling in the background and Rennie would scream shut up boys !. Rennie wanted  me to have my dog shipped to me. I said absolutely not , my dog which he was now will not be shipped I will pick him up. Rennie kept saying you should ship him because when he finally reaches you, you will be his saviour and he will be so happy to see you. The flight from Florida to Montana had three legs , total 13 hours of traveling who would allow a new puppy to be shipped without food, water, going for a walk...why would anyone allow this. I met Rennie at my hotel, I asked if I could come and pick up my puppy and Rennie said it is too dangerous I would need a four wheeler to get to her house, Rennie came to my hotel with my puppy gorgeous he is, I took him from Rennie and I noticed she had blood on her clothing and she said I clipped your puppy's nails in my car and he started bleeding. I just wanted her to leave, I thanked her for my puppy and walked her to her car, which upset me because the car was very dirty.

    I took my puppy home and I was so happy about 1-2 weeks later my puppy started howling which he still does, I called Rennie and asked her what was wrong with my puppy and she accused me of dropping him, finally she admitted that my dog's Mom was a talker, Mind you, I requested a calm quiet dog, Rennie did not pay attention with my needs which are a calm , quiet dog and not a howler. My dog howls to a point my neighbors in my condo where I have live 30 years had two other dogs previouosly don't speak to me, I have lost clients because all anyone hears is howling when I am on the phone. Rennie, did not tell me the truth until after I was home and bonded with my dog. When I asked Rennie prior to my purchasing my dog for paperwork it was like pulling teeth she was so nasty. I called Big Sky Veternarians and spoke to a Vet tech there prior to my picking up my puppy and the tech told me to make sure my dog is tested and is seen by a qualified Vet , she has seen problems with Rennie's dogs. When I received this reference I immediately called Rennie to tell her what was said and Rennie said it is not true.

    I believed this Rennie, I have integrity and it seems I feel because of how I am everyone is. I love my dog and I am just happy I got my dog , I would bet that my dog would not have the best life if he might have been with another family. My dog has a Vet Behaviorist that I need to take him to . I cannot leave my dog alone because he howls even if I want to go and have some alone time doing Yoga, or just having dinner with friends it is not going to happen. I have letters from my dogs trainer, behaviourist and current Vet. It is a SHAME that Rennie is still in business and if anyone complains on Rennie's website all Rennie's cronie's will chime in .That Judy is another Breeder or she makes dog beds and she butts in and I expect her to put her two cents in now. Although Judy will get backlash in return . Anyone can contact me what I find arrognant is that there might be clients that have had different experiences but Mr.Carlson's and my complaints are true  and when we voice our experiences we are bullied. Rennie's cronie's do not know myself or The  Carlson family we are professional people . I love my dog I was supposed to go out of the country next month for professional reasons and I cannot go because I am afraid my dog will get too upset unless I use medicine to space him out and I cannot do that to him. Rennie you are not someone that is honest, Breeders know if the Mother of a dog is a talker generally some of the puppies will be.

    Rennie wouldyou take a lie detector test I will pay for it. Instead of helping Brian and myself she threatened us, she and her friends bully us, because  Brian Carlson and I have different experiences then others. Rennie you need to take the good with the bad, if all were great experiences in business we would be billionaires. I am in business and I would never do what you did to myself and The Carlson family. I paid $ 1,650 olus my expenses. Rennie also had an Attoreny send me a letter the letter states if I were you I would not openmy mouth. Rennie I believe you reap what you sow. I am clear you have shared some experiences with me that you did that I wouldbe very ashamed of pertaining to your puppies ....Rennie if you clear our problems up you will start to become a healthy business owner. I understand you have happy customers that you have given dogs too for free or at a discount . The Carlson's and I cannot makeyou be accountable only you have the power over that but theday will come I promise that you are going to be responsible for your doing this . You stole money from The Carlson's and from me you stole more....I am not afraid of you , Rennie you are coming from a place where integrity does not exist this is not nice , you are not nice and you can say whatever you want The Carlson's and I know who you are , we sufffered from your lies but you didn't win Rennie, you can gather all your fans we have proof . I feel Rennie should stop doing this to people even if it might beonly The Carlson's and myself it happened Rennie .

    My complaint was against  Rennie. It never had anything to do with you. You chose to get involved. If you feel in some strange way that you are being bullyed, then leave the conversation. You seem to enjoy getting into other peoples business. Don't stick you nose where it does not belong. You claim to be a breeder. You should know how to take care of dogs. 

    You are a breeder who does not know about the propper feeding of you dogs. You get yourself into other peoples business. You have a lot of nerve judging other people when you fall short in so many ways. What is your purpose in getting involved in this?

    My purpose was only to get a refund from Rennie for the money she took from. You have turned this into a circus. This is not a character contest. 

    You involved yourselve of your own freewill. If something I've said offends you, then mind your own business. You cannot be bullied if you do not stick your nose where it does not belong. Leave this conversation.

    I guess the truth hurts huh Mr. Carlson. Now it is your character to attack me referring to 2 puppies of mine. Their death had nothing to do with improper feeding. You make up things as you go to embellish your case. Rennie referred to me regarding the feeding of "tiny" puppies because I have had several little ones like your "Gracie" that needed feedings every 2 hrs. She was trying to explain to you how important on time and proper feeding was going to be for you when you got Gracie.

    You thought putting kibble down on the floor was good enogh. NOT. She was very tiny and needed constant supervision to make sure she had the right amount of nutritian going in. Obviously, this was too much for you to deal with cause you didn't want her any more and  gave her away and then wanted a refund.  We all know that you will never admit to your inabilities to deal with puppies.

    At least we finally got you to admit that you DID  have a second puppy. Now who's the LIAR

    You are not going to bait me into a nasty debate about myself. I don't need to prove anything to you. All I have done is stand up to a bully named Brian Carlson in defense of my friend. Rennies many excellent references totally out weigh your ridiculous demands.

    My original complaint was against Rennie’s Rose Red Poodles. After making my complaint a person named Judy Stewart started posting derogatory statements about me. Judy Stewart has nothing to do with my complaint. She has taken it upon herself to make posts for other people.

    Judy Stewart and Rennie both condemn me for re-homing two puppies to good homes. Judy Stewart posts statements that I should not be allowed to have a puppy. Judy Stewart’s statements are outrageous because she had two puppies die while in her care. Just as ironic is that the information about Judy Stewart’s puppies dying is that the information comes from Rennie herself in an e-mail she sent to us.

    So according to Rennie and Judy Stewart, I am a bad person for having two puppies re-homed to good homes, but it is okay that two puppies died under Judy Stewart’s care.

    Rennie and Judy Stewarts character assassinations against me are interesting to say the least. Rennie is sending e-mails to my wife and I telling about Judy Stewart’s puppies dying because of improper feeding. Then Rennie tells Judy Stewart about us having our puppies re-homed. One thing this is for sure is that Rennie has a big mouth. Rennie does not understand privacy when doing business transactions.

    Judy Stewart has posted statements about me as if the information was in the first person. I do not know Judy Stewart other than the derogatory comments she has made about me online. Her actions lead me to question if she is stable and able to reason. First of all she forces her way into a business transaction that has nothing what so ever to do with her. Then she attacks my character for re-homing two puppies to good homes, when she had two puppies die. She posts for other people as if she was the other person. Her actions defy logic and reason.

    I had to look through Rennie's emails to figure out who J. Stewart is. Rennie told us about the 2 puppies died in the care of one Judy Stewart. This is the same person who made statememts saying I should not be allowed to own a puppy. What is that old saying about the pot calling the kettle black.

    I a posting this letter from Denise Bischoff who is the new owner of Gracie the puppy surrendered by Brian Carlson. This letter was sent to Rennies Rose Red Poodles but Rennie has limited computer capabilities. So she asked me to post this for her. This proves that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this puppy. Tthe complaints made by Brian Carlson were fabricated to try to get a refund on this puppy he had no business purchasing to begin with.

    I am replying to this report because I have personal knowledge and information of the purchase agreement of a 12 wk. old 2 1/2 lb. Toy Poodle puppy between Rennie's Rose Red Poodles, Brian Carlson and his wife Jewels Carlson.

    After purchasing this puppy that the Carlsons named Gracie, Brian demanded a refund because he stated the puppy had issues. Rennie immediately found a foster home and then a permanent family to take and care of Gracie. This permanent family paid Rennie $500 for Gracie of which Rennie gave this to the Carlson's as a total refund which was agreed to and accepted by all parties. That was supposed to be the end of it.

    Rennie then received correspondence from the family that had taken Gracie praising how sweet she was and that she did not have aggression issues or any of the bad characteristics that the Carlsons were claiming. In fact, Gracie was the second puppy purchased by the Carlson's that was found unsatisfactory and consequently rehomed. The first puppy was purchased from a different breeder although Brian denys ever having this puppy.

    However, Rennie has many emails from Brian's wife Jewels telling the story of this other puppy. Also, Jewels made reference to this puppy on facebook many times. In my opinion the Carlson's did not have the knowledge to train a puppy or the patience to cope with or the time to invest in dealing you a young puppy.

    Instead, rather than admit his mistake and inability to train puppies Brian has chose to try to place the blame on a reputable breeder who has done nothing wrong. He has slandered and made terrible accusations pertaining to Rennie all with the intent of ruining her reputation.

    I too am a toy poodle breeder and must say that I hope I never come across another angry and miserable man such as Brian Carlson. He is at fault in this whole matter and should never purchase another young puppy.

    I agree with Rennie and totally understand why she does not feel obligated to fulfill any more of his outrageous demands. After all, when a puppy goes to their new family it is not on a trial basis. Furthermore, when you buy a new car, you don't ask for a refund because you discover you don't know how to drive it.

    Rennie Rants but provides no solution

    Rennie has been asked numerous times to address the issue of the ear infection in both  of the puppies ears. The pain that the puppy was going throuh may cause aggression. We took the puppy to the vet and paid to have the ear infections taken care of. 

    Once again Rennie states that she offered us another puppy. Why would Rennie offer us another puppy if we took such bad care of the first puppy she sold us?

    Rennie emailed us telling us that this was the puppy for us, then she told people that she tried to talk us out of it. 

    Rennie lies about the posts that made to people on her web site. Rennie makes false statements about my posts. Rennies friends made remarks about me and I did not even know these people. Rennie sent false statements to the BBB about posts that I made. 

    Rennie is a liar who can be sweet as honey until someone disagrees with her. Then she declars war on anyone who does not see things as she does. her cult of followers lash out with intimidation and name calling. She welcomed us into the Family. When I came home to find people that I do not know making derogatroy remarksj about me I felt like I was dealing wtih the Manson Family. 

    I could not feel any worse if someone were to put a gun up too my head and take my money. Rennie played with our emotions and made false promises that she could not keep.

     Bottom line: #1. We followed our guarantee as posted on #2. I personally deliver these puppies all over the country and the client has the right to refuse the puppy upon delivery. (Obviously it is a logistical nightmare to do anything several weeks later when I am clear across country.) #3. Jewels Carlson signed the purchase agreement and agreed to all terms of sale with the included guarantee. #4. I remained in Sedona for two days, the Carlsons could still have returned Gracie the next day. #5. The Carlsons already went through this with another puppy prior to mine. (I attributed this to a different breed, not believing for a moment that it could happen with a poodle baby.) I have all communication from Jewels Carlson referring to the previous puppy. #6. When the Carlson's determined that they could no longer keep this puppy I had to arrange foster care until we could evaluate the puppy and arrange placement. I offered the Carlsons a replacement puppy OR $500 compensation. They chose the $500 and I have this in writing. #7. Under foster care, the puppy was happy and interactive with four other dogs, I was sent video clips at that time. No signs of aggression whatsoever. #8. I offered Gracie to a waiting client in Idaho and explained all circumstances surrounding this adoption. With my assurances, Denise and her husband took two days off work and made a road trip to meet Gracie. I will attach her reference letter and description of these events and the subsequent adoption. With the expense of the trip and time away from work Denise could not offer up any more money. Her $500 deposit had gone to the Carlsons. #9. Rennies Rose Red Poodles FB has numerous posted 5 star reviews from people all over the country. #10. Brian Carlson posted comments made by another reviewer but failed to post HIS comments that led to the responses. I cannot lower myself to attach all of his defamatory and crude remarks but do have a record of it in the event I need it. #11. I will post the conclusions reached by BBB as soon as they are made available to me.

    Rennie's Red Poodles

    I have five of Rennie's poodles. They are the most beautiful dogs I have ever owned and I grew up with dogs my whole life.

    My poodles are like potato chips I couldn't stop at just one. When I took each one to my vet he commented that he had never seen such beautiful and healthy poodles.They had virtually none of the  flaws or weaknesses known to the breed.Rennie has always been there for me anytime night or day if I had any questions. I would  highly recommened Rennies rose red poodles to anyone In search of a poodle puppy. I have several friends who did get one of  Rennies puppies and  loved them. Rennie  delivers her poodles personally to your nearest airport and truly enjoys meeting the new puppies parents.

    Rennie could have 100 people or even 1,000 people tell about their positive experience. This does not have anything to do with our experience. Our Experience has not changed. We spent almost $2,000.00 on one of Rennie's poodles and have nothing to show for it. Our experience with Rennie is one of broken promises. If Rennie wants to prove that she is a good person, she will refund our money.

    I have purchased a total of four (4) teacup poodles from Rennie Red Nose Poodles over that last 14 years.  The 14 year old twins that I bought from her in 2001 are still alive and well.

    Rennie is very proud of all her puppies and has always been very concerned about the health of all of them.  When you purchase any of her puppies she wants to know how they are and you are taking good care of them.

    I would definetly purchase puppies from her again and will defintely do so when the 14 year old twins pass on to puppy heaven.
