Rent2OwnUSA Charged $49 to my credit card Thousand Oaks California

I evidently went to this site while searching for "rent to own" property listings  I don't recall the specific website but I evidently opened an account on it because that is usually the only way you can see the properties they have listed.  I would not have (voluntarily) paid any such site any money.  But lo and behold I found a charge of $49 to them on my debit card!  I don't even recall giving them the number, but I guess I  did.  Contacted the company by phone and spoke to Rebecca in Customer Service, who was very nice,, and cancelled the account which I had with them and then reversed the charge, it's supposed to go back to the card.  One thing I thought strange was when I saw my account details for this account, the password was a phone number I haven't had for a long time.  So I thought that was pretty weird.   Rebecca said that the charge was incurred when I had apparently activated a trial of their service and hadn't cancelled it in the time period.  So I was satisfied with the outcome (assuming the charge does go back to the card of course), and the only issue I have is with anything that puts a charge on you based on something like that, I think it's a sneaky way to do business, like they have to ambush you with their fee rather than do it openly.  I sure didn't notice anything like a trial subscription was in effect, or I would have calendared the deadline to cancel it.  But the matter has been resolved at this point
