Republic 4x4 Jeep Park, Inc. Fowl language and 430 mile rebuilt motor Sheridan Colorado

I hire this company to rebuild a 1990 2.5l motor for my boys Jeep Wrangler. The owner told me it would be done in one and one half weeks. And it was to cost me $1400.

It took just over two weeks to get a motor from them. The owner Mike told me that there was a problem of wrong bearings and that was why it took the extra time. The motor also costed me $1620. This should have gave me some clues about this motor and company.

When I got the motor home and installed the motor I had a few problems of brackets that didn't fit. After a bit of shimming and adjustments I got the motor running. I told my boy not to take the jeep onto the highway and to take it easy with the motor for 500 miles to breakin the motor. At 430 miles my boy called me and told me the jeep was knocking. This took him two and one half weeks.
I contacted Mike at Republic and told him of the problem with the knocking. He informed me to bring the jeep in so they could hear it run. So I loaded it up onto a trailer and towed it about 18 miles to his shop after the snow storm stopped. when I got there Mike was not there only the mechanic was. He came out and pulled the dip stick out and told me there was metal in the oil. He then told me to take it back home and remove the motor and bring it back. They never heard the motor run.
I took it home and removed the motor. I returned it to the on Saturday and was told they would have me a motor by Monday.

Come Tuesday I called them to see how the motor was doing. Mike informed me he was going to call me to let me know that the motor was ran at to high of a rpm. Then he informed me that this was not covered by the warrenty. When I told him How the jeep was being driven and the motor was a piece of junk. Mike proceeded to call me quire, yell over the phone calling me a lier,and to tell me to come pick up the motor before he charged me a storage fee.

It took me 30 minutes to get there with my son. Mike changed his tone of voice being very nice and teling me to leave his shop and wait outside by my truck. When I got there he asked me if he should call the cops and I told him he should. (this was to protect me from beeing acused of doing wrong) As he walked away he raised his hand showing me a little recorder he was using. About 20 minutes later he comes to the door with the motor and acts like he is working waisting time. After about 5 minutes the police show up and ask me what is going on. I told them what has happened and Mike was asked what they needed to do.

Mike told them they needed to have me move my truck so he could put the motor on the ground outside of the shop. He then told me with a contract and more money he would put it into my truck with the cherry picker. So I moved the truck and the police officer asked me how I was going to put it into my truck. I lifted the motor by hand and put it into the truck.

Now I have oppened the motor up and found a crushed bearing due to installation, the crank was worn at piston jurnals badly, timing chain timing was off one tooth.

I have went and ordered a new crank and bearing set for the 1990 motor. when this came in the bearings where wrong for this motor. after talking to Advanced Auto about this problem they found out that the motor I was sold is a 1991 not the 1990 that I bought and paid for. this must have been why I had problems installing the motor. This shop owner uses fowl language insulting the customer and lies sells what he wants and not what the customer requests and has no warrantys or don't uphold his warrenties. If I was to work as he dose in my job I would not have a job.
ps. With this company you can't pick just one category to put him into.
