I witnessed a real case of a scam case about "Green Dot MoneyPak Cards".
My roommate signed up with a mystery shopping company that goes by the name of "Retails Active Marketing Inc.". ..email address: hr@retailsactivemarketing.com
1.The website does not exist
2. Domain name was registered on 24-Oct-2014 ....
...anyways, he received a Navy Federal Credit Union cashier's check for $2,350. He was instructed to deposit the check and use $2,000 to buy Green DotMonetPak Cards and keep the difference as payment.
The assignment was to:
- go to the nearest stores like: CVS, Walmart, 7Eleven, Walgreen
- buy the cards in values of $500 to $1,000
- scratch the back of the card to get the pin numbers
- send these numbers by email with a report of his shopping experience
Thanks God, the scam failed. After doing a search online, we found the right info. to quit the ongoing steps and discovering the whole plan.
