I visited these folks after a friend told me they had given her good advice. One meeting I just gave them lots of financial information.  The next was a sales pitch. 

The simple fact is that these guys tried to sell me an annuity.  The numbers they use make it seem like a no-brainer. However, the numbers were rather "cooked"  I would highly recomend heavy research before you even think about this.  First see:

Annuities have huge commisions attached to them.  They(RPS) did not offer any information on the annuity they were offering me.

After a short while, it became clear that the folks I were speaking to, really didn't know much about finance.  They were focused on doing a sales pitch.

The number they gave me showed this annuity would preform better then the stock market.   The fact is that I have much of my retirement in an annuity already.  This makes it an especialy bad idea to add another annuity.  

I believe the advice they gave me was not in my best interest. I believe I can prove this.  They however do not let you take home the sheet that shows your gain and such.  I did some math in my head during the sales pitch.  It was scary just how bad of a decision this would be.  

Please, Please be careful.  I hurt when I see lots of folks losing hard earned money  You can lose lots of future income here, for both you and your benificaries.

Do not make a significant financial investment without talking to different financial advisors and consulting with friends and family members you trust.
