First of all Retrieval Masters are a collection agency, NOT a credit reporting agency.

Since I have never heard of these lowlife, they must be new to the bottomfeeder game.

These are obviously JUNK DEBT BUYERS who purchased a very old debt that has little or no information on the original debtor. So, everyone with the same or similar name gets that collection letter and phone calls.

OR, someone with a totally different name who used to live at your address, or had your phone number before you.

You should read the FDCPA to learn your rights in dealing with debt collectors. And it makes no difference if the debt is yours or not.

All it takes is a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS letter sent by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. This is very important as it proves what you sent.

Now, when they violate your request under the FDCPA, you sue them.
