RGA Armani ripoff Gothenburg Sweden

I fell for the same scam thats been reported by others at this site. Unfortunatley I didn't find out about it until I made a search for RGA Armani on Google.

I was just leaving work when a stubby but well dressed guy pulled up next to me in a rentalcar and asked for directions to the airport. He seemed pleased with the information and explained to me that he represented Armani and had been in town for a convention.

At this point I had no reason not to belive him. He was driving a new car from Europcar Car Rental, he was well dressed and spoke better english than most Italians. This particular area attracts quite a few shady characters but this guy seemed for real. As I'm a big football fan we talked a little about football and AC Milan which he claimed he supported.

As I was leaving he said he wanted to give me a gift and pulled out three leather jackets and asked me what I thought of them. He then said that they where to big for him and that they had been showroom items and that he would have to pay tax on them if he brouht them back to Italy. This I did question since both Sweden and Italy are members of the EU. He came back with some good explanation on special import taxes for leather products.

He proceeded to explain that in order for him to give me one jacket as a gift I needed to purchase one first. I said that's not a gift as far as I'm concerned. To make a long story a bit shorter I really fancied one of the jackets and thought that if I can get a good deal on them it want matter if ther're fake, since they seemed to be of decent quality.

I offerd him 1000 kr (approx 140 US $)for two jackets which he at first would not accept but as I started walking towards my car he agreed. Driving off I felt like I had mad a great deal and that I had been lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Still feel like it was an ok deal since the jackets are nice and I didn't pay much for them, however, it is clear to me now that this was a scam and hopefully others want make the same misstake.
