This is a very serious scam and these RGM thieves should be shut down immediately.
RGM is a watch company comprised of Roland G. Murphy and a few flunkies who make huge salaries while cheating you of your hard earned dollars by misrepresenting their products as Swiss Made and acting like they are a company with integrity. Their sales people lie to you and their service is horrible.
Their founder Roland G. Murphy has gotten rich because of this scam and their employees make some of the largest salaries you can imagine and this is sickening, but the fact that they cheat you and me is horrible. RGM uses hundreds of different names on ebay to bid up the prices of RGM watches on ebay in order to control secondary market pricing.
Nearly 100% of the time, they don't complete the transactions, and the sellers are forced to list the items again and again -- thus perpetuating the market pricing control and appearance that their items are being sold for much higher dollar amounts than they actually would have been if a real buyer would have completed the transaction. .
They hide behind aliases so they can lie to people and not be held accountable as well as giving the appearance RGM is a much more powerful company. RGM higher-ups run several watch-related forums, posting messages under fake names so they can praise RGM watches and again lend the appearance that many watch aficionados really love these junk watches.
They charge several thousand dollars for ETA 2892-2 movements in a number of their watches. These movements maybe cost $100 and the cases are stainless steel. Where's the value? People are being tricked out of their hard earned money. There are too many to keep track of or know about.
The watches they sell are assembled in Hong Kong and China in addition to the US and Switzerland using some Chinese components -- but they don't mention the fact that they use these components in their watches. They want you to believe their watches are all assembled by hand in the US 100% Swiss components and that it takes expert watchmakers to make a RGM watch.
This simply isn't true. Ask anybody in the world in the watchmaking business, and they will tell you that there is no way that RGMs can be using the highest quality components. They claim the watches are assembled in the US, but only some of them are. Independent studies have shown that balance wheels, hairsprings, bridges, screws, mainsprings, crowns, and other components are manufactured in China.
These components have the exact same specs as the ones used in RGMs and an insider who is very upset with these business practices has been contacting everybody he can to tell them of this fraud.
This makes it obvious that everyone who bought the earler cheaper models were totally ripped-off, too. They have several models which they pay as little as $15.00 dollars for and then claim it sells at retail from $1,500.00 up to $100,000 dollars. They sell them on through retail stores and on ebay claiming it to be a promotion to retain value in the age of the internet (behind the scenes of course). This promo has run for over 4 years!
You should be paying much less for these cheap watches, but RGM is artifically keeping prices very high in order to steal your hard earned money. Also note that RGM claims there are many counterfeit RGM watches out there. How can they be counterfeit if they come from the same company that supplies RGM their watches? I sincerely doubt the company sells RGM a great movement and sells everyone else a duplicate piece of crap. Look at all of the replicas on the streets that look and run exactly like RGM. RGM helped develop them. Then they shut down street merchants in order to get free publicity in "raids."
When a customer asks about all the bad press on the internet about RGM, RGM conveniently claims everyone who has negative statements are simply disgruntled people from the past who are trying to make trouble for them because they didn't get a good enough deal. RGM is a mafia styled organization. This is a ridiculous assertion, the truth is there are many people who know these watches are a scam and are trying to help inform others.
RGM successfully fooled millions of people making hundreds of millions of dollars. They have enough ill gotten money to buy advertising in an attempt to look more legitimate. They frequently refer people to magazines in which they have placed ads. Keep in mind that it doesn't matter what publication they are in, it is simply paid advertising. Anyone with the money can get into these same magazines.
If you bought any RGM watch take it to be appraised and learn for yourself. Then contact us and we'll help do something about it. These models in particular are definitely using China components.
Do a search on Google for RGM replicas to see many fake RGMes produced by RGM and sold all over the world. You can find Chinese sources for genuine RGM products, and now RGM has just invested millions of dollars to build new factories/service centers in mainland China. They are stealing your hard earned money, so please be wary and help us stop this scam.

This is a ridiculous report. Anyone willing to take the time can do a little research and discover the type of company that RGM is. Roland was recently interviewed for a segment of the CBS Sunday Morning show, there have also been numerous articles about the company in respected magazines. I have met Roland G. Murphy twice and have had the opportunity to tour his shop in Mount Joy, while I was a student at a watch repair school nearby. I've never owned one of his watches, but I would like to.
RGM is still the only company actually making watches here in the United States.

RGM and Roland G. Murphy are a top quality horology boutique

I see that the gentleman from Colorado named "Scott" has declared jihad on a number of luxury watch companies. Some of them I am unfamiliar with and some of them have large enough marketing budgets to disregard his comments. My guess is he got a raw deal on Ebay from someone he didn't know, which brings me to RGM watches.
RGM is a top quality watch repair company that also assembles and finishes their own lines of watches. Their prices are in-line with competive brands of similar quality finish. Their pilot's watches and top end William Penn collection are easily within the range of "high value" compared to watches of similar quality.
I'm not sure what Scott's agenda is or was, but the watch afficianados I know that own an RGM or send their most valuable watches to RGM for maitenance have been quite satisfied. Disregard any flumdiddle to the contrary and don't buy expensive watches from strangers on Ebay.

Totally Untrue Allegations
AUTHOR: Terry Allen Blackburn - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, June 22, 2008
You can read the same allegations under Rip Off Report #69508 which is alleging Rolex Watch U.S.A. Inc. which is the U.S. subsidiary of the Swiss watch manufacturer Montres Rolex S.A. of fraudulent practices. This report is also done by Scott from Black Hawk, Colorado. Scott is so sure of his facts folks that he cannot use his last name for fear of being sued for the slander and libelous statements that are taken against two fine manufacturers of fine timepieces. In fact, this article looks like a cut-and-paste from the report against Rolex which is one of the most respected watch manufacturers in the world.
In this report Scott would have you believe that a conspiracy exists from this tiny little shop in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in which the owner and his highly paid watchmakers are engaged in the following practices:
1. They are posting under false names and singing praises of their brand to overly inflate their product.
Truth: They make most of their money in fine watch repairs from people all over the United States and the World; who send them their fine mechanical timepieces to be cleaned, serviced, repaired, and doing restoration work. In their spare time they get to create watches that are ordered from us collector's out there who know the fine workmanship that goes in to each watch they produce.
2. They are using ETA movements that cost $100 and inflating the value to monstrous proportions. Independent studies (Oh Yeah? Who? Cite Sources?) confirm that many of the parts come from China and an insider is upset with these practices and running around exposing them to anyone who will listen. (Again, who? Cite Person)
Truth: ETA is the largest manufacturer of mechanical movements in the entire world. They produce over five million movements a year and these movements are utilized in these respected watch brands with average watch prices listed until brand Corum and then just names so you get the idea:
Alpina $1,000 - $2,500; Angular Momentum $2,200 - $80,000; Arnold & Son $5,000+; Azimuth $1,000 -$3,000; Ball Watch Company $800 - $10,000; Baume & Mercier $1,200 - $9,000; Bell $ Ross $1,800 - $27,000; Ernest Benz $3,000 - $19,000; blu-source du temps $13,000 - $16,000; Martin Braun $4,000; Breitling $2,500 - $25,000; B.R.M. $4,500 - $7,250; Carl F. Bucherer $6,000 - $37,000; Chase-Durer $1,200 - $14,000; Chronoswiss $3,800 - $17,000; Corum, D. Dornbluth & Sohn, Dubey & Schaldenbrand, Ebel, Eberhard & Co., Eterna, Jacques Etoile, Ferrari, Fortis, Glycine, Graham, Harwood, Hermes, IWC, jacob & Co., Kobold, Jacques Lemans, Limes, Longines, Meister-Singer, Montblanc, Movado, Muhle, Armand Nicolet, Nivrel, Oris, Paul Picot, Porsche Design, Rado, Jorg Schauer, Alain Silberstein, Sinn, Sothis, Stowa, Swiss Watch International, Tag Heuer, Temption, Tissot, Tutima, George J. von Burg, and Dino Zei.
These are some of the finest watch manufacturers in the world. Look them up and you will see my sources are cited and original. In fact, in 2009, ETA which is owned by the famous Swatch group, will only manufacture movements completely finished as the customer, (The watch manufacturers) order them. The manufacturers are scrambling to get another movement company going so they can control their own destiny. Many brands including RGM Watch Company like to finish their own movements as it gives them complete control over the quality.
RGM Watches also use the Valjoux 7750 and 7751 in their chronographs. If you believe this authors writings you would think this movement is a piece of junk. It is a Swiss made movement that has a fabulous history. It is reviewed in the June 2008 magazine; "WatchTime" and is considered to be the most famous chronograph movement there is, having been produced from 1973 - 1975 and then, when mechanical timepieces made a come back, it has been produced from 1983 - present. It is also used in some of the finest timepieces in the world.
I would suggest anyone reading this author's dishonest misrepresentation to go to RGM's website to look at what they produce and judge for themselves. It is www.rgmwatches.com.
As far as myself I am a small watch collector. When I say small it means that I am not rich by any means and can only afford a few fine timepieces. I work hard for a living and am careful about what I purchase as it has to last me my lifetime. I read extensively, research things, and discuss things with others before I make buying decisions. I have the following watches:
1. Rolex "Z" Series GMT Master IIc
2. Rolex "Z" Series Stainless Steel Date Submariner
3. Tag Heuer Kirium Chronometer
4. Roland G. Murphy 160m Chronograph
And my wife owns an Omega Constellation.
To all who have read this report made against the RGM Watch Company I say the
following:
Folks; think for yourselves. This is the day of the internet which is a fabulous tool if used correctly to learn, teach, inform, enlighten, share cultures, broaden our world, entertain, etc. It is also a tool that can cause damage to others and misinform. It is a tool that cowards use to cause damage to others who are more successful for fun, out of envy, out of hatred towards people that have more than they do, etc.
If this story was true wouldn't you believe that he would cite legitimate sources, wouldn't he use his real name so as to get credit for exposing the biggest rip-off in history. This is a scam folks, from someone who has nothing better to do with his time than to enlighten us with ramblings that are untrue, unfounded, libelous, and insulting to anyone who has the ability to think critically.
I rest my case.

You wouldnt believe how many watch companies use a 2892 and charge far more than RGM does for a lower end watch. Also, RGM is one of a very few number of watch brands in the world that have both the machinery and the know-how to machine turn their own dials which is a long since dead technique of decorating a dial with elaborate lines. Also, how can one assume if a watch was won at auction and never paid for, that it was the producer of the product being sold, doing the bidding in order to "bid-up" their own products, I have sold on Ebay and many people bid on things with no intent on buying them. I respect RGM, and his commitment to keep traditional watchmaking alive.

We are the only American Watch company making small series of high grade mechanical watches. There is another company jealous of what we have done and has posted lies about me and my company on this site. I would like to take this opportunity to show you who we are and what we do. We are a small company of just seven making about 300 watches a year. We make custom made watches also and we do repair and restoration of antique complicated and modern high grade watches.
We are also the US service center for several small Swiss watch companies, Like Ventura, Minerva BMW and several others. Also under our other business name "Tradema Service" we are the North American Service center for Girard-Perregaux and Daniel Jean Richard.
We also have a very good reputation and one can ask about us on any of the legitimate online watch forums.
All of our watches are designed, assembled in finished in Lancaster County PA, USA. All of the parts in or on a RGM watch are from Europe or the USA.
We have had many articles written about us in magazines like International WristWatch, we would be glad to send you a catalog and a copy of a recent article.
We hope this gives a clear picture of who we are and what we do. It is a shame that anonymous post can be made with wild claims with no basis in fact.
Best Regards,
RGM Watch Co.
