Yesterday I called my bank because I had a large negative balance. The customer service woman found a charge from "Rhapsody". I didn't even know what this was. She said it was an internet purchase. Needless to say, but I was charged $32.00 because I had a negative amount in my checking account. This account was being closed.

I contacted Rhapsody and asked them how in the world could they get my credit card number and continue charging me for a service I wasn't using? The only response I received was "I can return this month's fee back to to credit card". Where are our rights on the internet. Where do I go from here? Is there anyway to get documentations? How do I follow up on this to get my money back?

I am 45 and have no need for Music to download on my computer. My children have all left the nest. Help!

No Responsibility for the Quality of What They Sell?

AUTHOR: Arthur - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 15, 2008

Let me see here. This person admits the track is not all there but it's fine? And if I have a complaint because the company (Real) sold me a defective product that they got from the source in less than perfect condition they should be held guiltless for their lack of quality control of the stuff they resell?

So if I go to a tire store and buy a set of Firestone tires and one of them is bad I should contact Firestone corporate headquarters and confront them for shipping a bad tire to my tire store? Should the tire store tell me it's not their fault and baffle me with BS and say there's no problem with the tire and hang up the phone? LOL

#2 Consumer Suggestion

sounds fine to me

I have Phapsody and have not had any problems. I did a search for the album and the song you mentioned. And I playes all 5 minutes and 31 seconds of it. It does sound like maybe one or two notes are left off at the end. BFD. I then went to Amazon.com and liiked up the actual CD on there. Sure enough the song is listed at 5 minutes and 31 seconds. SO, IF you ahve any complaint, it should be with the recording company who chopped off the last two notes.

Shady Outfit

For what it's worth, I can personally attest to the sort of people they are over there at Rhapsody. I bought (among others) a track titled Maria/Tonight... etc. on the album The Three Tenors in Concert -- Rome 1990. The problem started when I played it and found that the end cuts off abruptly before the fade out. Just a couple of seconds lost perhaps, but it sounds bad.

I jumped through all the hoops, found the phone number for tech support and dialed the number. After 18 minutes hearing loud music I tried to do the live-chat thing as an alternative. It was about 45 minutes before the chat guy answered from the time I was put on hold. I terminated the phone connection and relied on the chat contact (which by the way told me I was #1 in the cue with an expected time of 0 mins. and 59 secs. for at least 8 minutes. Anybody getting the feeling they do their best to discourage contact from their customers?

ROY came on live chat and seemed solicitous and apologized for keeping me waiting. Good, I thought. Sounds like a decent person. I stuck it out while I explained the situation and he went off to check it out... supposedly. Maybe ten minutes later he came back and said there was no problem on their end. Oh oh.

You can go there yourself and play the track and hear it cut off at the end instead of tapering off and fading gradually. I said perhaps it was their zip thingy that cut off the track. Did he wish me to send him my copy of what they sent me? That is when he pulled the plug on the chat.

I leave it to the reader to go to their website and play the track in question and decide whether or not ROY is a liar.
