We hired Richard Lee to rebuild a large retaining wall in our back yard. With this, we were going to add new plantings, a patio and general upgrade.
We paid him $2500 in April, 2005 to draw up plans understanding that he was a landscape architect and licensed & bonded contrator. We paid him an additional $9250 in July, 2005 after the plans were approved as a 50% downpayment to start the job.
Since then, we haven't seen or heard from him; the job never even started. It also turns out that he lied about his credentials and being licensed and bonded.
I've also found out since then that there are MANY other victims of this man! WCCO TV ran a story about him, and it looks like he mainly preys on new homeowners in suburban housing developements.
I have filed a lawsuit against him, and successfully served a summons. I've also filed a police report with the city of Minneapolis.
