Pamir hired a guy named Tony. He was as best I could tell a budding bass player who thought he had an ear for talent.  He was very opinionated about various bass players and thought guys like Flea sucked and only jazz fusion players who slapped, tapped and 4 fingered were worthy of consideration. OK, fine. Whatever.  He was some kind of manager and placed an ad on Craigslist for a talent scout for Pamir.  Sounded interesting. He and I chatted on the phone, then we met face to face at Pamir. Seemed to go alright. But at that point he told me his name was T.J. and he gave me a card with just that on it.  Not T.J. Smith or whatever, but just T. J. with the main phone number and his private gmail email.   I had a question, so I called in and got Richie on the phone but he didn't say who he was at first, just "Pamir". I asked for T.J. and he's all "who the f-bomb is T.J.?" and I say "the guy who's hiring a talent scout" and he says "oh, that's Tony, but if you don't even know who you talked to then this call is over" and he hung up on me.  So I email "Tony", told him what happened.  Well he said that Richie went ballistic and said I wasn't Pamir material and we were basically dead in the water.  I asked him if he explained the bit about T.J. vs. Tony and he avoided answering me.

So I got to thinking, if he's hiding his name and not even Richie knows, this can't be good.  So I do more research and everything seemed so rinky dink and overhyped, even for hip hop.  The guy is a hack making beats and trying to get a few hip hop guys some demos and then he gets an idea that he'll sell a repackaging and polishing service to newbies to make them think they have a chance with a major label.  The web site says 4 studios and some graphic and video production rooms too. Where are the pictures of them? Being used?  Where are the testimonials of signed artists?  Where are label logos indicating partnership or at least some level of endorsement? Red flag, anyone?

Then if you look on bandmix, they have some intern named Vilaykhong from HCTC doing what I guess they wanted me to do.  Maybe he got the right name, Richard or Richie or whoever. If you look at the text you see "We are looking for label-ready artists and bands (R&B, Pop, Rap and Rock) to produce, package and present to a major label. You've got the sound. You've got the songs. You've got the look. Now is your chance to get your opportunity. We do not accept everyone. We are extremely selective. We can only allocate time, personnel and resources to artists that have potential to succeed with a major label. Contact me at Vchanthalangsy001my.hennepintech.edu"  If you look at the web site, they have no artists.  There was someone named Kezia Ekel in a 2015 press release who put out one track called Tonight with Pamir that is merely a demo. Purpose of My Life by Brandon Thomas and RM on Youtube has 81 views today. This doesn't look like major label interest. Look at his linkedin.  He basically went to SAE in both Chelsea (NYC) and LA with two Bachelors degrees, but he has trouble with plurals and capitols in his descriptions.  Does that look right to you?

Perhaps he did help TVick early on, but TVick seems to have gone total DIY/Indie/Soundcloud on his own with Diamond Nation Studios of Burnsville. Also, limited gigs of late, so no major label action here either.

Save your $500 deposit.  This is a scam. I guessing Chad/Holly Figg wrote the "we got screwed out of our 50% investment" post previously here and that's why Miranda changed the business name like a building contractor. Or maybe it was T.J.

Nothing positive going on here.  And I'm nothing special. Just a guy who has been around the local scene for a while with a little curiousity and some interest in helping bands and singers.  But even I can see that this just ain't happenin' and lots of people are in and out of this place with nothing to show for it.
