On December 4th,2016 my brother and I were looking to hire a computer programmer to create a social media themed app. I found this guy "Richard Rogers" or so he goes by that name, on craigslist. We agreed to meet up at a local starbucks, when he showed up he looked and talked very professional and was really eager to "start working" for us right away.

We met up with him twice before we gave him any money. He signed a standard NDA, a equity & work contract, and we had agreed to pay him half first then the rest of the money once he was done with the app. He even gave us an invoice to make it seem even more professional, for the total of $1,250.00 but he needed help to do this of course and so we trusted him to hire one of his "friends" by the name of Michael to work with him on the app, since he had already signed everything we didn't have a reason to not trust him.

He then told us that he had talked to his friend and he was going to work for the same amount of $ minus the equity. Everything seemed to be going okay until he asked me for another $1,250 for his friend to start working on the project. He provided us with fake contact info for his friend. By the way we never met this made up friend of his who "lived in Orange County" and was supposedly ready to meet the same week we hired him. After we gave him the money for his friend, Richard stopped texting or emailing us back. He had assured us that he was working on some mock ups and would have work done and email it with in the same week.

After probably about more than five attempts to contact him he finally replied and said that he was very busy because of his "kids" he told us that he had them for the holidays and thats why he couldnt contact us. We still believed him and told him it was fine but he had to send us the work he agreed to send right away. It wasn't until after I researched his name on rip off report that I realized the big mistake I had made. I still couldnt believe it because he did not seem like the type to do this to people. So this guy wouldn't reply after another week had gone by.

My friend made a fake ad on craigslist to see if he would contact him and with in minutes after him posting the ad Richard contacted him. Hmmm... really interesting for someone who was very busy working on our app and taking care of his kids right.? He then somehow figured out that the guy was my friend and the ad was fake. He emailed my friend telling him to let me and my brother know that he was working on the app and would have the mock ups ready for us asap.

Creepy right? Well I had made a fake believable ad too and he emailed me right away and said he was free to work for me immediately. After a couple hours he emailed my friend again and said to let "lila thompson" (the fake name I gave on the ad), know not to worry because he was working on the app. Oh and get this, the number he gave us for his made up friend "michael" is the new number he is using and we know this because he provided my friend and I with this number to contact him after sending his resume to the fake ad email.

We've tried contacting him to get our money back and our copies that we gave him of our designs and of course he never responded after that. We have tried to go look for him at the address he gave us but no such person lives there. Everyone please beware of this A**HOLE. He is slim, about 5'8 to 5'9 inches tall, he is BALD, always wears black raybans or regular glasses. He also twitches a lot, he is soft spoken, drives a 2016 prius with the california license plate of (((redacted))). His email address is revtechla @gmail.com  and phone numbers are (310) 208 9622 and the one he is using now is (213) 289 3999
