Right Toyota is the worse dealership one could ever go. My situation is devastating. I was planning on returning to Canada because of the new job and went in to trade back both of my vehicles, both financed through Toyota Financial.

I worked in Arizona for four years and always had a good credit and was in good standing with Toyota Financial. I knew I wouldn't be able to take the car financed in US with me to Canada. I did my homework in researching this topic and wasn't planning on purchasing anything after my trade in. They pulled out a financial manager and general sales manager to convince me and reassure me that they will complete all the paperwork necessary and I would be able to take the vehicle with me as soon as it's not a new one.

I got myself into the contract of 2011 toyota car, they didn't do any paperwork. I had driven this car for less than a month and had to leave the car, I couldn't legally take across the border, at their dealership. I lost the money from the trade in that went towards a new agreement, and now they are forcing me to sign a car surrender form to make me liable for the difference in the price if they sell my car for less. Any advice from anyone on what I should do?

I consider myself not a stupid woman and I still can't believe how I could allow them to pull through the fraud with my money making and contract making me liable for their actions after all. Not even to mention, that the price offered and negotiated initially never made it to the actual financial agreement. Please, help me.

Toyota Financial says I have to argue this issue with the dealership but they are the people who will want me to pay them the difference. Why wouldn't they give me some support. I contacted them a week after the purchase explaining the situation and letting them know that noone at Right Toyota seems to be trying to complete the car transport documentation.

it would be nice to have an explanation

AUTHOR: OksanaK - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, March 31, 2012

I would like to hear from them too. The only thing I had so far is stubbing in the back but no communication. They treat me like a woman with a chicken brain and, I believe, think I am afraid of their offending silence. I left Jamie a message to, please, send me my new car copy of purchase contract and copies of  my trade-in contract for two cars. No response until today; I guess, Trojan virus is the only way they can deal with this issue. I called Jamie after I talked to Toyota Financial. The person I talked to apologized for what happened to me and sad that my issue is with Right Toyota and I have to take everything against them because Toyota Financial has never received an inquiry for car paperwork. It was before they picked up the car from dealership. She asked me to get the car to Canada now and that Toyota Financial will do all the paperwork I need to get the car across the border. That would be nice but, my customs declaration had been filled out on the day I crossed the border and cannot be changed. There was no car declared on it, I can't change it now, the immigration law is very restictive, things cannot be added on a later date. You can say that car is coming 3-5 months later after your return date but you cannot modify your cross the border declaration. I would like to know why I was so mistreated and why they haven't even tried to complete the legal paperwork. I think it would be nice to hear the explanation from the dealership of what have happened and prevented them from carrying out of what they promised they would. Lets see if the the holiday can bring the honesty out of the devil's cave.

I was convinced by Right Toyota that I will be able to take the car to Canada but no legal paperwork was done to take the car across the border. I was returning to live in Canada after four years of absence and had to fill out a customs declaration forms on goods to follow. I contacted customs and car transporting agency to find out what I would need in order to bring the car with me and both places sad I needed a letter of ownership from Toyota Financial confirming that they are aware and have nothing against me taking the car to Canada and continue paying from there. That paperwork was never completed and car transporting agency couldn't even initiate my order until they would have that letter in hands.

Toyota financial representative told me that I can take my car to Canada for one month but then I have to return or return the car. When I left the car at Right Toyota, they didn't report the car to Toyota financial as returned until I found out that car was still under my name on the dealership's ground two month later. I called Toyota Financial to inform them that I don't have the car in my ownership anymore.

I don't know if they pulled through the entire thing to get over my trade-in money and make me pay more later on or it was just honest mistake. Considering no effort of completing the legal paperwork for transportation, the honest mistake falls out. Especially, after they asked for more money. They have the guts after all...

Just to let Mark know, I posted my report on my facebook and it worked almost immediately. Two days after it was posted I got a Trojan virus sent to my computer. Thank you Mark and thanks my friends for spreading the news. This is my first time standing up for myself publicly and it's not easy to share one's own stupidity and vulnerability. I blame myself a lot for trusting people at Right Toyota on this, it was not their first time trying to pull through tricks with my money, but I was reasonable always and was leaving the dealership before the mistake was made...not this time...I couldn't believe I allowed this to happen. I would never be able to cross Toyota's door step, it is like a devils land to me now.

Will be interesting to see if they have any explanation. If not, I would avoid them like the plague.

I have a question...

AUTHOR: James MK - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 29, 2012

Where did you get the info that you couldn't take a car financed in the US into Canada? My sister lives in Vancouver but always buys her cars in Seattle because a close relative of her husband (his brother) owns a dealership there. Her cars are US bought and financed in the US and yet her main residence is in Canada and her car has British Columbia tags...

OksanaK, Make sure to spread your Ripoff Report all over the web......

AUTHOR: Karl - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, March 19, 2012

at sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Feel free to do it every day. Make sure to expose the Toyota dealership all over the web. Let people know that they can come to this site and type in- TOYOTA, and read your Ripoff Report, along with over 1,300 others.

Toyota's top executives will do everything in their power to protect the corrupt and unethical Toyota dealerships in the USA and in Canada, in my opinion. Most Toyota dealerships thrive on deception, trickery, manipulation, and outright fraud when selling and leasing new and used vehicles. It's the 'Toyota way' of doing business.

Good luck to you.

WELCOME TO TOYOTA- MOVING BACKWARDS

response to Karls comment

Dear Karl,

Thank you so much for your advice. I will definitely follow it. At this pint of time, I am trying to get the copy of my original purchase agreement which was taken away along with the keys when I returned the car on January 6, 2012. They also threatened to report me to the police for "abandoning my car" and leaving it at their dealership. So, as you can imagine, it was a very unpleasant and scary experience. God is, ultimately, their judge for this crime.

I am also trying to get copies of my trade in agreements, which never even given to me. We discussed one things and my purchase agreement never reflected any of it. When I asked Jamie to give me my trade in agreements on December 10th, 2011, few days after the purchase, he just laughed and sad: "What are you taking about? What agreements and what trade in payoff are you taking about?" It was a scam from the beginning to the end. It looks like they are used to do this to people, that's how they make their money and that's how the business is run.

financial manager name change

AUTHOR: OksanaK - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012

The actual person who generated a financial agreement for purchase and reassured me that he deals with legal paperwork for transportation of the cars to Canada was Financial manager Jamie Steinseifer not Brad Pringle. Please, update. I also would like the name of William Fakhoury to show in the main heading because he is the General Sales Manager who told me that the paperwork will be done and done on time.
