Avoid this place at any and all costs! They make promises that they cannot keep (i.e. saying that the tow is included if they do the work/labor on your vehicle...and then later recanting it since the cost of the work wasn't high enough in their eyes).

Secondly, the front desk associate (David) acted very sarcastically, inconsiderate, discourteous, and arrogant towards questions about the work and warranty (apparently a dealer part replaced by Rincon Transmission has only a
"tail-light warranty" meaning that once you leave your on your own as far as the repair is concerned - what the heck???), not appreciated one bit.

Lastly, 256% mark-up on parts is absolutely ridiculous and unheard of! I know how a business should be run, because I own one, and the customer service that was provided by Rincon Transmission was absolutely TERRIBLE and uncalled for.
Sarcasm and rudeness has absolutely no place in business period. If David was my employee and had acted that way toward one of my customers, he would be looking for another job...no questions asked...

Customer Service is our Top Priority!

AUTHOR: Rincon Transmission - (United States of America)

It is unfortunate that this customer felt that he had a bad experience.  As with any business, it is difficult to make everyone happy.  As a Company Standard, Rincon Transmission has always offered a free towing with a Major repair.  An example of a Major repair is replacement of the entire transmission.   As everyone can agree, to have a transmission replaced is very costly and Rincon Transmission tries to soften this expense by offering free towing for a Major repair.  This particular customer had a hydraulic hose replaced.  This does not fall into the free towing category.

Our warranty policy is typically 12 months or 12, 000 miles for a minor repair. This policy does vary depending on the service that is performed, however, that is always explained to the customer in writing before they leave.  As for a "tail light" warranty...that has absolutely NEVER been a practice here!

Rincon Transmission stands behind our employee's 100%. David has been employed with us for the past 18 years and has always provided customer's with the best service and understanding possible.  Any company would be lucky to have such a Great Employee!  I hope that I am blessed with as many employees as possible in the future with David's work ethic.

Percentage Mark-up ~ Calculation update

AUTHOR: mholloway - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 16, 2012

I reviewed the calculation and rechecked the numbers. I had previously included a few other charges that were not included in the cost of the actual part into my first calculation.

The updated percentage mark up on the part is approximately 45% and not 256% as I had previously stated earlier. I apologize for the miscalculation.
