 First.....off they don't ONLY do reversals for married woman, I'm not married and had mine done other there. Second.... why would you not want to be current on your shots anyways!?! Third..... They most CERTAINLY do want a copy of of the surgery report from when you had tubes tied, cut, burned, clips, however they want to know. Fouts and FINAL...... the person who wrote this to start with is probably mad cuz they haven't be pregnant since having reversal done, or they got there and had to pay extra cuz thier bmi was high. Whatever the case for their madness..... Do your own homework and research this doctor. I had no issues with my US doctor looking up Dr Perez. My doctor actually said he was good person to go to. I went to Mexico on Friday surgery Saturday morning home sunday. Went to my doctor Wednesday. He said I looked great. 30 days after surgery went to my hospital had hsg test dome and tubes are wide open and 7cm both sides. The nurses could not have been nicer. Hospital is super clean. The shuttle drive Armon was the nicest person. FELT very safe. So happy I went there and would go again without a doubt. To the person starting this your frustrated and THAT'S OK..... but don't take out on the doctor. They have nothing to hide over there. They will let who you went with in the operating room to take pictures of the reversal if you want (of course they are sterilized prior). Just look into it doctors. People can say good or bad it is only their opinion but don't let these negative people stop you from having your dream and reality. If you want the best reversal in my opinion GO TO RIO BRAVO!!!.

I had my surgery in March of 06. It was a great experience. I loved the Dr's there. They were so nice and helpful. I remember the Hospital being so clean, and the staff being so nice. Always ready to help and answer any questions I had. I spoke with DR Levi for about 20 minutes before I had my surgery, and again for about 30 minutes after. Then when I was ready to leave he came in and wished me luck and told me if I had any questions feel free to call anytime.

I now have 2 little girls. The oldest is 4 1/2 yrs old and the youngest little girl is 9 mos. I am living proof that the Dr's in Rio Bravo are competent and know their jobs. I would send any one of my family and friends to them to restore their fertility. 
 
I will pray that the person who started this bashing, gets the help that she so desperately is in need of. I will trust in God that people who read this understands that she has a problem. God Bless and Good Luck

I went their last year in Feb‘10. My experience was not as great as some have said. Want to know why? The epidural only numb half a side of me and I could still feel the pain of it and told them I could. Their replay to that was ‘no you don’t’ and knocked me out even more.
 
The anesthesiologists paid no attention to the fact that I could feel a burning like sensation when the serum enter my veins when trying to knock me out. I also kept telling him to at least rub my arm where it was burning and nothing was done about it that I had took my other arm out of the strap to rub it because it was hurting me.
 
I honestly feel because of the pain I could felt was why I kept waking up and it was the cause of my blood pressure to go up. I feel because of that, is why I am not pregnant today for I was told my right tube was the good side and that was the side I could still feel the pain on and it’s blocked (HSG). I believe it was due to excess bleeding I may of had on that side due to my high blood pressure therefore causing scar tissue to form I think. I was also allergic to the dissolvable stitches because the one used on my outer skin I had to remove them because my incision was not closing all the way even after three weeks. Once I did though, my incision closed in matter of forty-eight hours along with the redness I had. I had a second hsg done and email them with some questions, and still not heard back from them after almost two weeks.

Most of the staff was really nice, and the hospital was clean. If anything could be done to make sure this doesn’t happened again, don’t brush off a patient when she says she can still feel pain where they are operating on her and teach the staff some basic English would be really nice.

I know this procedure isn't 100% so I took a gamble, but feel my chances after it was done there become lesser then the norm because of what I had to experience there.

I had a tubal reversal in 2004 by Dr.'s Perez and Levi. I have a beautiful, healthy daughter. I brought my post tubal ligation report with me, my report said the Dr. here in the US performed a fimbriectomy. Turns out..........not true.Dr. Perez was able to complete the reversal and I had a baby. My own OBGYN here in the USA was indeed impressed by his work. He got a first hand view of their work while performing a laparoscopy. That is a fact.

To address the issue of marriage............so what!! Morality still exists although some people find that disgusting, I think it's great. To each his own. There are other Dr.'s in the USA that will do the procedure whether you're married or not. Freedom of choice. Dr.'s Perez and Levi can make their own choices and you or anyone else doesn't have to agree, but none the less............it's their choice. If you don't agree........move on to another Dr., that is your choice.

Dr. Perez can "cut" me or anyone I love again if need be. I trust him and he is an awesome Dr. Thank God for people of faith and a commitment to Gods work. Without these moral abiding individuals we (believers) would have to pay thousands more for the very same procedure in this country. Why?????????? Perhaps over inflated insurance rates and malpractice insurance because we are such a sue happy, self entitled bunch of people.For a lot of Christian woman, having "whole" fertility is a religious belief, again, you don't have to agree but it is our choice. That, you should respect just as you would want others to respect your beliefs.

It's wrong to discredit someones character or professional abilities based on no real facts because of a clear contradiction of beliefs regarding whether a woman should be married or not.

The facts are......woman are most definitely conceiving healthy babies post reversal with Dr.'s Perez and Levi. Woman are saying wonderful things about them. I did not get an infection or disease from the hospital. The instruments used were sanitized in front of me. My care there was professional and hospitable. Most important.......even Dr.'s are entitled to their own choices regarding ministry.

I would advise woman considering Dr.'s Perez and Levi to do their homework and discover your own truth. I highly recommend them for not only their characters but their skills as Dr.'s are incredible!!

I was a patient of Dr. Perez recently, I had my tubal reversal done in 11/2009. No where on his website does it you say that you have to be married, or from the usa. You can be from china, europe, canada or anywhere and go there if you wanted to, and you dont have to be married or even have a partner to get your tubes untied. A lot of the ladies that have had tubes reversed are married, duh! why would single people be trying to have more kids? But being married is not a requirement. You can call the doctors and talk to them daily if you want to. I am proof that Dr.P is a good doctor. After I was healed from surgery 2 months later got an HSG done here in the USA because it would be to expensive(traveling expenses) for me to go back to Mexico for the HSG test, Si I had it done at my local hospital through my doctor and My tubes are wide open with no scar tissue, so obviously they did a good job! Now I am just waiting to get pregnant. So before you go bashing something you really know nothing about, maybe you should do some research and talk to the ladies on riobravoreversals forum first! Then you might learn that you are a complete idiot for talking trash without real information!

I went, had surgery and am still here to prove it. I got pregnant, but it sadly ended in a miscarriage. The hospital was clean, the people were nice my husband watched them take all the instruments out of the sealed packages. If I had gone to a Dr in the states it would have been 2X the amount that I paid for the surgery, flight, and hotel rooms. I am very happy with my decision.

I have lived in Texas and Mexico most of my life and I have found that it is best NOT to have ANY surgical procedure unless you are completely bilingual in Spanish and English and you have some medical training yourself, otherwise, you might be in for some extremely UNPLEASANT SURPRISES!

The one time I was in a Mexican hospital was when I had a severe heat stroke at a charro rodeo and had to be rehydrated and Mexican medical team surpassed anything I would have received on the US side of the border in that small, dusty little town where I was working at the time.

But it was NOT an invasive procedure.

I don't want anybody cutting me up, not in a knife fight or in surgery.

There used to be some American doctors who had lost their licenses back in the hippie days who would come and pay some bribes and open up shop in Mexico. They were butchers then and they are still butchers.

Only have your surgery with local doctors known to you and your family or to the family doctor you trust. There is the accountability thing as well.

With that new strain of microorganism that lives in hospitals and there is no antibiotic strong enough to kill it or the risk of AIDS from contaminated blood if something goes wrong and you have to have a transfusion and over there, you really don't know.

Elective surgery is just too risk ANYWHERE anymore and I would advise against it except in cases where your life was actually threatened and that is NOT elective surgery!

Why bring more misery into the world when you can adopt?

In 2002 I got married and 2003 we decided to have another child, Oct 31st 2003 I went to Rio Bravo to get the reversal. I contacted the doctor by his personal telephone number and talked to him directly. He spoke to me about all the things I needed to bring the procedure and how long it would take. I searched in the US for a doctor to perform the reversal and they were too expensive for me 6000 upfront CASH. I know after searching, I paid one doctor in Kentuckey 50.00 just to talk to him in person!!! I got this doctors direct cell phone number. At the time of the reversal I paid 1910.00 plus 175.00 for the taxi trip and 464.00 for two round trips from tennessee to Texas. This doctor has an office in Texas but chooses to do these surgeries at this private hospital Hospital de las Americas because it is cheaper in Mexico. If he did these surgeries in the US I would say he would have to charge a whole lot more. I love this man he was a very compasionate man. I conceived within 6 weeks of the surgery and now have two children post surgery. He is an honest and very sincere caring man and I have proof. I have photos of the doctor with me and I was treated better there than any hospital I have ever been a patient in and that is saying a lot because I work at a hopital. I can give nothing but good words about this man. My OB/Gyn here actually gave this doctors name out. At the time I went he had 25 years experience in this , The doctor I first asked in Greeneville where I lived asked for 6,000 cash Upfront and then he said no guarantees. You dont get these anywhere It costed me only a portion of this and He had more experience than any of the other doctors I had researched. I went 10 years after my tubaligation and was repaired and back to work 17 days later. He is not god but he did give me two more children. Without him I could never afford it. He is a BLESSING. Dr.Perez deserves respect and a Thank you!!!!

I can not believe that anyone whom has ever had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Perez and his staff in Rio Bravo would have anything negative to say about these professionals. I spoke with them several weeks before I was able to go there for my tubal reversal. Dr. Levi discussed everything with me that there was to discuss.

When I arrived on Friday evening I went straight to surgery, only the surgery did not go as planned. You see once Dr. Perez cut me open it was obvious that the so called doctor back in the US who did the sterilization, not only sterilized me, but butchered me. He made sure that I could never be repaired. Why, did he go to this extreme I don't know. I do know how very upset Dr. Perez was that he could not help me. I know this because my husband was right there the entire time, the doctor showed him everything.

Dr. Perez and his staff were great, the hospital was clean, they did everything they could to make everyone comfortable, they even brought food for everyone there with me. So Im back home now, My tubes aren't repaired, but it wasn't the Mexico doctors fault. I am still thankful for Dr. Perez in trying. And now I look forward to IVF, and Im considering having it done in a clean and caring hospital,that is not going to cost me a fortune,but will be committed to do everything they can to help us conceive, regardless of money. Yes it's a hospital in Mexico.

It has been almost 3 years since my original rebuttal. My wife and I have the 3 year old that she was pregnant with when I wrote the rebuttal above. We had a son 18 months ago as well. We also thought she was pregnant last month, but not this time.

One thing that I did not cover...

From the INSTANT that my wife had her "tubes tied" after my 13 year old was born, she had hormonal issues. Hair falling out, severe mood swings, not feeling good in general. You kno, the US Doctors lie to you, they say there are no adverse affects from having a tubal ligation.

Now, the INSTANT my wife woke up from surgery, she could tell a difference physically, hormonally, and emotionally. Her hair stopped falling out and just felt better in general.

First I'd like to address one persons response who stated the following:

Women should look at Tubal Reversals as permenant! Just curious WHOM you are to judge others? No one can forsee the future and we are all human and do not walk on water, therefore making mistakes from time to time.

As for the slander this ONE person and I do mean only ONE?? Anyone who is curious can go to the website and read the testimonies of all the women and decide for themselfs.. I after only 4 months of the surgery am now expecting in 12-06!!

The service was exceptional and the staff very caring. I also continue to spread the word of the miricals being preformed there daily. Dr. Perez makes it affordable for some of us whom may be less fortunate finacially to be able to correct or change a decision made for our own personal reasons, which only God will be answered to when that time comes.

Secondly, They did not demand that I was a married woman, although engaged with a date set shortly after the reversal, mind you they did NOT ask. As for the lack of communication, I spoke with Dr. Levi 4 times in council with my to be husband prior to surgery. That is each persons personal choice, or obligation on themselves.

For someone to be offended that they may prefer the women to be married is kind of funny considering without Gods guidance and nothing short of a mirical a possitive outcome is but impossible. I guess that is only true if you believe life is only possible and granted through God himself??

You decide for yourself, go to the website, ask questions and be prepared for a pleasent surprise.

I'm looking for an affordable doctor to do my reversal surgery, but did not have no ideal that it was just for married couples, but six months ago I read the web site for this doctor and it did not say that it was just for married couple. But anywhere my concern is that Dr Perze is very much affordable than the doctors here in United States. And that's what I'm looking for an affordable doctor to do my surgery. Also with my age I am.

So, I have no clue who's doing this to this doctor, but them need to stop. Beside God is with all of us and our decision we make. I will find out more about what I need to do to get myself there to get this surgery for myself. I have read some good testimony of the patience that went to get their reversal done. I'm with them a 100%.

I applaud Pat from Georgia who articulated a great response defending Riobravo and pretty much covered everything I would have said so just to add my cents worth. I live in Ireland and travelled to Riobravo for my reversal after 2 failed IVF attempts.

What the facility lacked in technology they made up for in the excellent care I received from ALL STAFF. Dr Perez gave me an opportunity that no other clinic could. The fact that the cost was almost half of the lowest quote from USA based clinics meant I could afford to have the much desired procedure done. I was told that I had a 50% chance of conceiving let me tell you I was 100% happy with all aspects of my procedure & care regardless of the outcome as it happens I have just discovered I am expecting my 5th child against all the odds!!! I am indebited to Dr Perez & his wonderful Staff & i would have no hesitation in recommending them, Go Girls!

I would like to add my two cents in here. I just had my tubal reversal with Dr. Perez about 1 month ago. No one "recruited" me. I searched for a doctor that was professional and well qualified, as well as affordable. Dr.Perez is both. He has an excellent reputation, and I really don't know where you are coming from. I am pretty sure that you are the same person flaming Dr. Perez on another site using numerous false names, what your motive is, I do not know.

Your false accusations are hindering the efforts of desperate women who are longing to have another child and cannot afford one in the US. Why do you want to get in their way???

You have problems my friend, maybe some counseling would help.

I figure if you are not married you should not be trying to have children to start with. Second of all Dr.Perez is a wonderful Dr. I was a patient of his less than 2 weeks ago. I feel great. I also have to say that the hospital there was immaculate, not like some here in the USA. I have pics to prove this. Who ever you are in N.C., go get educated before you put up false claims about someone. I went to Dr. Perez as of March4th 2006. The hospital ther e waqs much cleaner than the ones here. The nurses actually care for thier patients and I got a 70% to 80% cahnce to conceive. Yes it is cheaper over there, and very expensive here, and you get the same results only better treatment in Mexico. I Don't even have a scar. I would recommend everyone I know who wanted a reversal to go to Rio Bravo. He does thousands of surgery's a year. This can be verified. Do you really think if you go to Mexico for surgery and catch a disease you could not catch it 20 minutes over the border in Texas? Are you a moron? Let's see save money go to Mexico, waste money stay in the states?? Not a hard choice here. I have pics of the hospital, and it is very nice. You need a reality check before you can put some one down.

Any woman considering having a tubal ligation should consider it to be permanent.

For the response on Dr.Perez's reversal. I just had mine on the 12th of Feb. and everything went perfect. My incision is better stitched now then my prior two c-sections. My mother went with me and was a little nervous and now she is raving about how everything was clean and just beyond her expectations.I was kept in touch with before and after. I have had questions and they have been on call with every concern( even after they took the money). I think we should be thankful they are not trying to take an arm and a leg from us like the other people. We've made a mistake and they are helping us by not breaking our pockets.In the US I would have to probably wait till I am 40 in order to save up for the procedure alone,not including the cost up there. Thank Goodness for Dr.Perez I dont have to ask for hand outs for this surgery, I paid cash. Cash?No problem, I would need a hand out if I had to pay the price the US is charging. They even recorded for my husband.The responses prior are enough for this sight but I would like to share that I have 90% chance and after 5 days I am great.I still contact Dr. Levi and the staff.I checked alot of reversal sites and Dr.Perez had numerous testimonies that werent balonie!

Two years ago, around our 16th Wedding anniversary, my wife and I flew to McAllen, TX for her Reversal. We Flew into the airport, rented a car, and drove to the hospital.

We were met by Dr. Levi, Dr. Perez was in surgery.

Our Surgery was scheduled for the next day, but due to a cancellation we got an earlier spot THAT NIGHT.

Now a little over two years have passed, and my wife is due ANY MINUTE NOW.

To alleviate some of the fears that the original poster of this report is trying to drum up, let me respond to some of their allegations:

(these are my feelings, and mine alone)

1. "Only performs TR surgery on married Women."

Cool, I didn't know that, but as a Christian I believe only married women should be be trying to have babies.

2. "They want you to cross the border and cut you open"

Well, uhm DER! their office is Mexico, and it is surgery... missing the problem here...

3. "cheap reversals and getting rich"

Cheap reversals mean you pay 1/5 of what you would pay in the US... I don't care where you're from... thats a good thing.

As far as the getting rich part.. maybe so, but if they are only charging 1/2 to 1/5 what other doctors charge... it'd be pretty hard to prove this to me.

4. "Women are alarmed"

Not if you look at the calendar on their website... looks like they have 2-5 surgeries a day setup.. those women dont look scared.

5. "only take cash"

If you had been ripped off in the past, wouldn't you adopt the same policy? I know I would!

6. "They say they can fix you up and you can get pregnant again"

See note above, worked for us, and alot of others that have gone that we know.

7. "Never talk or meet with you before they cut you open".

I think I covered the "cut" part pretty well on #2 above. As far as not talking to you, you can call and consult with them at any time... we talked to Dr. Levi 4-5 times before we agreed to let them perform our surgery.

8. "No known success rate"

uhm hello!! *Waves hand excitedly* Remember me? wife due in 2 days... Dr Perez said there was only a 40%-50% chance. (My wife had 2 miscariages before this baby. This is us and had NOTHING to do with the reversal)

9. "do not need an operative report before surgery"

Well, they are "cutting you open" they can see for themselves. They do however ask if you have one, if so request that you send it to them so you can talk about it in one of those consultations that you do not get according to the original poster.

Let me see... c-section... 6-8 inch cut. Reversal, 1-2 inch cut (and no scar now).. not quite the same!!!

Dunno about you but I am not flying back to Mexico to have stitches removed. Anyone in the states actually return to a Dr to have them remove the stitches? No? Didn't think so...

13. "other diseases in Mexico that they do not bother to tell you about"

Well this hospital was cleaner than most in the US. a bit older perhaps, but WAY cleaner! And just because you are in mexico you are gonna catch a disease that you cant catch in Texas 50 miles away?

14. "is no such thing as 100% satisifed"

Is there anywhere really? Dr. Perez states 30-50% chance.

The 100% satisfaction comes when you realize that you have put something back in God's hands that you took from him by having the tubal surgery. Yes God can allow you to get pregnant anyway, but by having a tubal, I feel you are saying you do not trust Him to handle that part of your life.

and FINALLY...

I am writing in response to the above posts made by the same person in North Carolina and who supposively runs a group called MexicoAndUSAReversals. First and foremost, there is no such group listed in the yahoo directory called MexicoAndUSAReversals.

NOW ON TO THE COMMENTS TRASHING DR. PEREZ AT HAND... While I didn't care much to elaborate in the beginning,I wanted to mention that not only am I a FREE endorser (meaning I don't get paid and support Dr. Perez of my own free-will) I had my reversal by him in November 2003 (which can be verified)and just recently had my baby 7 weeks ago (which can be verified) also. What does this mean?

I am one of the MANY women who did have a successful reversal by Dr. Perez and the one who isn't nervous about defending the miraculous Dr. either. This also means that not only was my reversal successful, it also means that I became pregnant less then 4 months later, 3.5 months to be percise (a reccomended amount of time to wait to try and conceive, as ordered by Dr. Perez himself).

I am for Dr. Perez and have sent many women to him to have their reversals, some of which have become pregnant right away (waiting those 3 months) and I am still sending women to him at the moment, many who have also upcoming appts. with him.

There is much satisfaction on him and if there was so many who were disatisfied, I question why it is not one person has replied to these above posts, nor have they found a way possible to lash out at him elsewhere online. I can tell you why... there aren't many who are actually disatisfied and in fact the woman who posted the above comments was a woman who actually went to Mexico herself and for whatever reason, didn't become pregnant. I mysely had my reversal done in rio bravo by dr.Perez and it was a wonderful place to go have ot done.

It was going to cost me 10,000 over here in the usa with a 40 to 50% chance to get pregnant.I decided that that alot of money to spend for 50% chance so I went to Rio Bravo.And yes I did take my reports and yes he did tell me that I had a 40 to 50% chance as the dr's over here told me.

I was alos told to go to my regular ob/gyn once I got back for a full check up etc..Which I did and was told it looked like a good job to to my dr.

I have no scar from the surgery ,which I scar easy.And no I am not pregnant yet but I have only been trying since June 2004 and I had my reversal in May 2004.
