Road Runner Transportation Services company refuses to replace car lift damaged in delivery Internet

I ordered a car lift, tire changer, and tire balancer from American Automotive Equipment Feb.7, 2011. We received it March 17, from Road Runner Transportation Services. Driver did not have the equipment to unload the tire changer and balancer, so out of courtesy, I agreed to let him deliver it approximately 2 miles from my home. Driver was met at local hardware store where the purchased equipment was unloaded from their truck.

Brought the equipment to my garage and preceeded to unload it. I unloaded the lift as instructed from the video on American Automotives website. When disassembling from shipping braces, the concealed damage was revealed. I fought with American Automotive for several weeks until I was told that I would have to file a complaint with Roadrunner. I reported the damage, a freight inspector came, declared it a total loss, and photos were taken and submitted.

I submitted a claim to Roadrunner, was informed by mail that it would take 60 to 120 days to review. May 16, sent an email complaint to Roadrunner asking for a faster response and received an email the next day telling me that my claim had been denied. They are insinuating that the damage was done in the 2 miles it took to bring to my garage.

I am extremely frustrated, considering that I went out of my way to accomodate this company in the delivery of my equipment. I have a customized garage, with years of experience and knowledge of how to handle heavy equipment, and I think it is completely fair to expect that I receive what I ordered, which was brand new, undamaged equipment, not something that looks like it was dropped from a loading dock.

If there is someone that can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
