As an owner operator of a semi truck one of the most expensive costs are emergency break downs and towing. So having emergency roadside assistance membership is a good idea. It's hard to find road side membership services for owner operators with fewer than 10 trucks. So after shopping around I found Roadside Masters.com. Membership costs $499 a year. You can choose to pay in monthly installments or all at once. What they offered sounded like a good deal. They offered truck and trailer towing, truck lockout, jump starts, ect. But there is some shady fine print that you don't find out until you actually need the service. I finally found the fine print after my unfortunate incident after much digging, but it's there. They do everything possible to NOT give you the services you pay for. If you have a break down you MUST BE DISABLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD for them to give you service. You can't be at a truck stop, gas station, rest area, weigh station, abandoned rest area/ weigh station, Walmart, near an off or on ramp.

So if you get a blow out, a flat or in a situation where you can kinda limp off the shoulder of the highway to a safer area, so that you or the service person won't get hit by vehicles going like 70mph, make sure you're not at the above places I mentioned. So for example you're parked at a rest area and the next day one of your trailer tires are flat. You better not call them from the rest area. You would have to move the truck out of the rest area to the nearest mile marker and then call them. I was at the truck stop getting fuel and when I went back to the truck it wouldn't start. I called Roadside Masters and they took my information and then after all of that they refused to give me service. Why? Because I was a truck stop. Even though it was a small truck stop with no mechanic shop they said I didn't have a true emergency. WTF???? Unfortunately the closest TA was like an hour away and it would of cost me at least $400 for just a jump start.

Almost the same price as the membership! Lucky for me I found a service in the area that charged me just $85. Well my membership expires in march and I won't be renewing with them any more. I'm giving other truck drivers a heads up. Save your $499. Every break down I had when I was a company driver road service came to the truck where ever it was. This is the first roadside service that I ever heard of that want you to be in a potential dangerous area to get service. How is being broke down on the shoulder more of an "Emergency" than being broke down at a rest area for example. You still are going to need to call a roadside service or tow truck. Roadside Masters.com is an 1000% rip off.

Seem's like multiple people are having the same issue of signing up for a membership, being promised benefits and getting stuck with the short end of the stick.  When we called in, they sent us Je-Co roadside assistance which ended up costing us over $12k, regardless, we were told we would be reimbursed for our roadside and tow, and over 8 months later and 15 calls, no reimbursement, no returned calls, and we have to seek legal action against them as well.
