Roark Vacation Travel Club - CRI Bait & Switch Club Bransom Missouri

While on a trip to Bransom, MO in September 2008, we stopped at a travel information center which was located in a quick trip/service station in Ozark, MO, where we were offered two free nights in a Bransom hotel in exchange for attending a presentation by Roark Vacation Travel Club. We attended the presentation and ended up purchasing a membership for $2,964 because it sounded like such a great deal. We were told we could go on vacations at huge discounts, which sounded great. Another reason we were interested in the Club was the supposed ease of booking vacations.

However, after arriving home and trying to see if the Club was going to live up to the promises we were made, we were unable to get any information within the three day limit (the time in which we could cancel our membership). We were told we would have to have a membership number, which (of course) wasn't provided to us till well past the three days.

We have checked on several vacations through the Club, and have not found anything they are offering at a discount. The air fares they have quoted us have not been any less than we can secure on our own, and the package deals that are touted in their presentation are non-existent.

We are being told one thing by Lingle Johnson, who is one of the men we dealt with in Bransom, and something entirely different by the booking agent. She has stated that she does not know why they are telling us some of the things we are being told as they are not true.

We have been ripped off royally by this company, and have filed a report with the Attorney General's Office. We are hopeful that that Office will do something to help all of us that have been ripped off already, and protect others from going through what we and many others are.
