I was reading about survey jobs on a website and saw a link for being a mystery shopper, which would pay more money. I clicked on the link to read about it and then signed up. However, I don't remember the website I was on, so I can't give that information.

Anyway, I then got an email which asked for basic information and my address so they could send me the papers with mystery shopper job instructions. It was very well written and realistic. A check for $1995.00 was included. I was suppose to deposit the check in my bank account and then withdraw it the next day, minus the money I was to be paid.

I was instructed to use some for the mystery shop but then the instructions also told me to use most of it for a Walmart-2-Walmart money transfer plus a Money-Gram transfer. Each for $850.00. The papers said this was because they had problems with these transfers in Texas Walmart stores and were using mystery shoppers to investigate the problem.

I was suppose to do this while shopping at any Walmart store I choose. I was suspicious and so was the person I knew at the bank, so she called the bank who issued the check and found out the check was previously cashed. This was obviously a copied check that the scammer was using.

I then called the first phone number on the papers to talk to this man using the name Robert Krans and he denied anything I said but then hung up. In this report I gave the first phone number 346-221-8550 but there is a second number on the papers which is 323-208-9136. So, one number is in Texas but the other is in California.

I assume the mailing address on the Priority mail envelope from the United States Post Office that the papers came in is either fake or taken from someone's home or business. I contacted Walmart but they only took down the information to pass on to the proper department. I'm warning everyone to be careful about mystery or secret shopper jobs.

There are real mystery shopper jobs by known companies that you can sign up for but they never ask you to make money transfers. Have your bank hold or verify the check before withdrawing any money.
