I am both a freelance court reporter and own my own agency.  I reporting depositions in good faith for Rocket Reporting.  In the beginning I was paid.  Then the pay got slower and slower until they stopped paying.  They were paid by the lawyers but I was never paid to the tune of $3800.  Many other reporters, videographers and interpreters were not paid either.

I tried for almost a year to contact them and get the monies owing until they finally would not take calls anymore.

I filed a small claims action, which was difficult.  They have aliases, dbas, akas, many properties that have been transferred to other famiily members, property liens and IRS liens  They avoided service of process by the sheriff.   Finally they were able to serve one of them.  Unfortunately, on the hearing date, I was sick with the flu and could not appear in court and the case was dismissed without prejudice and I was told I could file it again. 

I lost the incentive.  They basically wore me out.  I know others have filed claims against them and have judgments.  I don't know if they're ever received anything. 

Lee Wallach is all over the internet as a philanthropist and a wonderful guy by his own account.  What a dichotomy!
