I was recently solicited at my home in Richmond VA by a young couple who were selling magazines for Rockstar Subscription Agency. They told me if I was not interested myself I could send a magazine to a Marine overseas. I, being a vet myself, know how nice it is to receive these care packages. I purchased a subscription to Maxim and was told it was to be sent to a soldier overseas.

My wife alerted me to this site, and the reviews made me nervous. I found the CEO's personal Email on one of his rebuttals and sent him a message to find out what the deal was. Within a few hours he replied. Here are the Emails.

ME>>"I was solicited by a young girl named Kara and her brother at my home in Richmond VA claiming to be selling magazine subscriptions for Marines overseas. The sales pitch was odd but a fake military charity is so low it never occurred to me until my wife found this
http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/rockstar-subscription-agency.aspx . I would like to know if the subscription to Maxim I purchased actually helps marines at all. If not I expect to to be reimbursed, and disciplinary action taken on these "salesmen"."

HIM>>"No it is not a rip off. Those reports are old, and besides the very first comment there is nothing stating we did not send the magazines to the troops. We actually have a couple of places we send them. One list are people who actually came back from over seas and a buddy of mine has
met. Second we have a list of a Marine Truck Platoon that is over seas and it is a real APO addess. Third we go to a website that asks to be sent magazines to address' s that they provide. I will provide you with the website as soon as I get to my computer, I am currently on my phone."

You should obviously use caution when dealing with salesman at your door, but please don't let a FEW bad eggs, whom the man states have been dealt with, deter you from this company. I know when I was over there I appreciated getting these care packages from home, so I thought I owed it to the men and women still there to post this report.
