This motel scams setting you up on excursions- for example to the everglades to do an airboat ride. They charge you $50 per person incl. children and when you get to the excursion it onle cost $22.50 adults and $12.00 children. (the driver goes in and pays) They hose you for $88.00 just for a ride 1/2 hr. away.

The worst part is they lie to you to get you to go on this excursion--that makes it a scam. I was told by the desk employee he could set me up with "a friend of his" who runs airboat rides in the glades. It would be a two hour boat trip and 1 hr. total travel time. I asked if it was a big touristy airboat that seats alot of people because if it is I DON"T WANT TO GO. He replies "oh no,,it seats maybe 8 or 9 at the most and is a 2 hr ride. Alot of fun".

Of course we get there and it is at Everglades Holiday Park..a tourist attraction. It is a big COVERED airboat that seats...28-30 occupants. Exactly what I said I did not want to go on and was assured it was not.They even said at the ride we that we got totally ripped off on the price of a ride to and from the park. Not to mention being TOTALLY LIED TO.

e complained to the motel & the drie driver also but of course they would not settle for a penny less and even claimed not to understand english very well..this was the van driver who collected fees at airport drop off.
They knew we were already having a bad time of it with missed air flight and no luggage so they added to our problems with a nice tidy rip off.
They cater to the cruise ship travellers so they probably have done this to many people.
