Room Store LIED Sterling Virginia

A horrible experience with the Room Store:

Great salesman sold me a couple grand worth of furniture. Unfortunately, once you pay for it, that's where the great service ends.

Your window for delivery will be 4 hours. If you request to be called an hour before the truck is due at your house, so you can leave work to meet them, you may not get that call; I did not.

My window was 8:45 to 12:45 and when I did not get a call by 11:45, I called them. I was told that the truck had made its first two deliveries and I was number four. I left work and was home in 30 minutes (approx. 12:15).

When I got home, there was a message on my recorder (my home phone recorder) from the Room Store, informing me that the truck was at my house at 11:45 (the same time I called them) and would wait 15 minutes. Of course, I didn't make it.

I immediately called the Room Store and I was rather hot; I demanded they turn that truck around and come back. They did not do what they told me they would do. I'm missing work and burning gas because they screwed up. They couldn't do it. Apparently, the truck had traveled 2000 miles in 15 minutes and just could not make it back to the east coast (sarcasm .sorry).

I was then informed that they could not even reschedule delivery for two days and that I could not pick up my own merchandise. Two days later, I rescheduled for another delivery. It would be an additional two weeks with another 4 hour window.

I tried to be as clear and concise as I could be with the person on the phone (I can hardly call him a customer service person) when I explained that I needed them to call me at work or on my cell (NOT AT HOME) an hour before the truck would be arriving so I can drive home from work and meet them. I have to work too. I can't take a day off every time the Room Store makes a mistake.

My mistake was buying furniture from the Room Store. That's a mistake I will NEVER repeat.
