Wrongful sales of PAID IN FULL accounts .....

I paid this account in full on December 28, 2000 by electronic check by phone. The dollar ammount cleared my bank on January 2, 2001. I had already been making payments since April 2000 as per my "NO Interest, No Payments til' April 2000" agreement. After finding it difficult to get Household to send bills or statements, I admit it, I got behind on my payments, but this happens to people sometimes.

I called for my pay off ammount and paid it. I was supposed to receive a letter from Household Retail regarding the pay off, but NOTHING!!

Now, after months, actually, two years almost of nothing from them, I receive harrassment from a collections group that Household "SOLD" my "delinquent" account to.

You say in your letter that you got behind in your payments.

The financing we gave you allowed you to pay your balance in full for quite some time before payments were due. With our no payment/no interest plans you get at least 1 year....at present we have almost 2. You decided to wait and pay interest. I am sorry you got behind but by doing so your interest acrued. Just like the finance agreement said it would. it only acrued from the due date till when you missed your payment. That is the only way our finance works...non acrual till date due X amount of months later. If you bought 1000 worth of furniture and paid 500 by the end of the term....interest would be on 500 for the month due and only goes forward.
If this in incorrect your beef is with Household...they gave you the credit....not Rooms To Go. We sell furniture. The bank does the credit.

Hi Melissa,
I couldnt believe it when I read your message, the EXACT thing happened to me, and now a collection agency is stalking me saying they never posted my draft or sent my letter, and now I owe $1600 in interest for the last 2.5 yrs!

I am sending registered letters to them, for it to be updated and cleared off my credit within 30 days or I will join in a lawsuit against them. I am also disputing with all 3 credit bureaus as well.

Once you have the letters and receipts of delivery send them to the credit bureaus and have them attach it to your credit file until it is resolved. Sad, that we have to work constantly to correct their mistakes that RUIN our credit huh?
