Rooter Man Beware of Rooter Man! They charge 3X to 4X market costs!!! Inglewood California

I called Rooter Man to have them come and check my water heater as it would not light up. They said the initial check up would cost $50 and the technician would be at my place in 45 minutes. I waited and waited, finally, he showed up an hour and a half later. He took a look, and said the thermo couple needs to be replaced. He said he did not have the part and would have to come back the next day. He then came back the next day and replaced the part charging me $379. I researched, and found that the thermo couple is a $15 -$30 piece at max. This is really over charging consumers, when the job was finished in less than 1 hour. He said it is a 6 hour job considering his commute. He drove to Pasadena from West LA and had to come twice! Come on, he did not have the part the first time and the company advertises servicing the local Pasadena area. Consumers should not have to pay for his commute if the company wants to advertise as a local, servicing Pasadena company.

I got a quote from Sears Plumbing and they said the same job would be $85 plus parts $15. I told Rooter Man this, and the technician initally say, "who's Sears? never heard of such company" and then finally said, "they're a big company so they get their material cheap". This just shows Rooter Man rips off its customers!!! Be careful not to be the next victim!
