Opened an account for daughter.  Was told by the advisors to use Charles Schwab. In addition, we needed to open a Simple IRA for our business and our employees.  Met with Advisor for 45 minutes. Never did she tell us or point out that our credit was going to be run.  3 weeks later, we received a letter that Charles Schwab declined our account! They did not send back the money however. I phoned the Advisor and explained that never in my 50 years of doing business has a company run my credit without pointing out to me that our credit would be run when we are giving them money. I explained to her that in order to prevent being sued, they better change their business practices. She referred me to Customer Advocate Dept. who I am working with, maybe. Point being, when you are sitting in front of a financial advisor for 45 minutes, shouldn't there be a form that specifically provides approval for that business to run your credit report, which can potentially have a negative effect on your credit report?

Credit Report

AUTHOR: fuskiegirl21 - ()

Any time you open an account with a financial institution, or bank you sign a form saying they have the right to run your credit report. They are taking a risk doing business with people with bad credit.
