Arrived at Route 69 Auto Sales on September 14, 2014.  Very surpised how packed in the cars are.  Asked salesman Josh, to test drive a car.  After much juggling of cars, the requested car was brought out.

Car drove well although there were a few minor things like tilt steering wheel lever broken, speaker cover missing, replace rear tires, and a noise in the exhaust.

Josh said all would be taken care of and that for the life of owning the car, they would split the cost of repairs 50/50.  We signed papers and were told we had a 30 day/1500 mile warranty.

September 20, 2014 - picked up car, but repairs not done.  Parts on order

September 27, 2014 - brought car in for repairs to be done.

October 4, 2014 - picked up car.  3 repairs done, but exhaust still noisy.

October 11, 2014 - engine light came on...stopped and had code scan done and was told the catalytic converter was no good.

October 12, 2014 - brought car in to have catalytic converter replaced.

October 18, 2014 - tried to pick up car, now service air bag indicator light was on before leaving their parking lot. So left car with them.

October 25, 2014 - picked up car, now no heat and on and on the saga went.

Each time I brought the car to them, I was told it would take a couple of days for repairs.  As you can see....6 days, 7 days, So each time I would call and be told the car would be ready "today".  But it was not...next day "today", but it was not.  And trying to get someone on the phone was a task in itself.  I would be left on hold for 9 min., 11 min., while they were deciding what to tell me.

Out of the first 44 days of owning this car, Route 69 Auto Sales had it for 26 days, with no offer of a loaner.

Finally, November 4th, I picked up the car for what I thought was the last time.

Fast forward to February 27, 2015 when I took the car in for its emission test.  Lo and behold, the car failed due to the catalytic converter.  And I was told that I would have no way of knowing that because the check engine light was not working either. The emissions place told me the bulb was probably removed, because these lights just don't go out by themselves.

By now, I was suspicious enough of Route 69 that I brought the car to an unbiased mechanic to pull the dash and see why the engine light was not working and to check to see whether the catalytic converter had been replaced in the past 6 months.

Results:  "Catalytic converter is the original from the factory and discovered that LED had been punctured and disabled."

When Route 69 Auto Sales was confronted with this information, they kept saying "what do you have in writing that says we were going to replace the catalytic converter?"  Also, by now, my original salesman and the mechanic were no longer working there.  But I was soon to find out that the new salesman and mechanic were just as bad.

Eventually, after much arguing, they agreed to fix the car at their expense. Dropped car off March 19, 2015.  Supposed to be ready next day. Obviously it wasn't!

Showed up at 5:45pm on March 21 and made to wait until all customers had left the lot.  Then I was told by Mike Luisi, owner, "We've gone above and beyond now and we're not going to get into replacing the check engine light bulb."  Funny, how can he say he went above and beyond by doing work that was supposedly done in October when they had my car for 6 days. Needless to say, Mike was not very pleasant in his conversation at this point.

So now I still had a car that would not go through emissions without a working check engine light that I was told by the Volvo dealer would cost up to $1500.00 to replace, because you can't just replace that LED bulb.  It is part of the dash.

Next step:  filed a complaint with Department of Motor Vehicle on April 3, 2015.  Let me tell you, DMV was wonderful!!!!!  They were able to resolve the issue and get the work done for me within 3 weeks.  I've got to say, I was leery of taking the car back to Route 69 to have them do the work, but I've now got a working check engine light and the car has gone through emissions.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy a car from this nonreputable dealer. Do not believe the positive reviews on Cars.com, as they can be manipulated by the dealers themselves.  Read reviews from numerous sites, so you will get a realistic review of this dealership.
