RPM SPRINT harrassing phonecalls and fraudulent billing BOTHEL Washington

I was stationed at DLI in Monterey,CA where I had a sprint internet account. Two days before I PCS'd, I closed my account and paid what I thought was the remaining balance, and ok, my bad that time, didn't get a receipt.

For over a year now, I have been getting phonecalls from this RPM collection agency, saying I still owed Sprint $58.56, which, even if there was a carry-over balance from my account, the monthly rate was less than $30 for internet service, so why I was being charged for 2 months I have no idea.

They called 3-5 times a day, often putting me on hold first, so I would rarely answer the calls. I would just pick up and immediately hang up and of course they would continue to call, usually leaving ambiguous voicemails such as "Hi this is Mr. Rick, please give me a call back at [some number]," never giving any information about who they were.

Finally I just got sick of it and caved, sending a check directly to sprint with my last bill, which they promptly deposited on 27 June. But what do you know, I'm STILL getting phonecalls! Because I knew I already paid and had proof that I did so, I answered "Mrs. Martin's" call (after being put on hold of course), where she basically yelled at me and told me I HAD to reissue my check because her sources indicated I had not paid them. I hung up on her, I will not be harrassed by these people anymore.

So then I decided to search the 425 number and found all these entries about it being a scam against military people! If anything is being done about this by outside sources, because I agree with others' theory that sprint is behind it all, I am willing to help!
