First off, the company is UNlicensed, according to both the California Department of Corporations and the City of Carlsbad, California. This may be of interest to you, if you’ve ever bought software from RPMHG in the past, or are thinking of doing so now.

RpmHandicappingGiant.com (RPMHG) is back to promoting one of their favorite products, “FINDING THE HIDDEN HORSE--THE SOFTWARE.” This horseracing software program is based upon a book written by Conrad K. Crease. The main problem with this software is that it randomly changes its selections beyond the operator’s control. A recent audit revealed that more than 30% of the selections were incorrect, presumably due to coding errors. I emailed the company several screenshots that clearly identified the issue.  Dave Powers finally responded, denying there was any problem. Powers claimed that I was the only one out of 900 people who had this problem. Oh, really?  In other words, 900 people, who had purchased this defective program in good faith (at $149.00 a pop), were never told that a serious programming flaw would sabotage the software program.

I wasn’t actually expecting RPMHG to fix the problem—they only had to admit they couldn’t.  Ironically, their own programmer later confessed that they just couldn’t figure it out. So, they offered me either a refund or exchange, which (after two years) was reasonable, but they later reneged, blaming it on “antagonism.” Guess I had had to complain strongly enough to finally get their attention.

Unfortunately, no debugging has been done, and RPMHG continues to market its hype to an unwitting public.

Corrupted software programs and nonexistent customer support are all you should expect from RPMHG.  Shame on them, for thinking they can fool all the people all the time!

A word to the wise: If you value your money and your time, stay as far away from them as you can, unless you have a hankering to get burned. Don’t let yourself become just another victim.  If you do, you can’t say you weren’t warned!

A concurrent investigation is under review by the office of California Attorney General, Kamala D. Harris, as they are conducting business without proper licensure.
